    MASTER CYLINDER ??

I would say weight savings and the fact that you don't have the power brake booster as a limitation on camshaft size. Power brakes require a pretty strong vacuum signal, which somewhat limits the size of the camshaft. Lastly, in a car as light as an A body, power brakes are really not a necessity.

How important is 1psi of fuel pressure?

Higher pressure puts more fuel in a given place faster than lower pressure.

So what is the benefit of getting rid of the power setup and moving to manual?

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

There are lots of ICON pistons available for the 4" stroke crank with a compression height of 1.445" in most variations except for the dome pistons that come with a 1.465", but they are all made with the .984" pins. I know JE makes a shelf piston for a 4" stroke with a 6.125" rod length and...

How important is 1psi of fuel pressure?

Below is a chart that Carter provided for fuel pressure v needle & seat size. It also works for Edel AFB/AVS cabs because Edel copied the Carter fuel delivery system without making any changes.

Tell me about your ballast resistor failure.

The Nichrome wire gets brittle from the hot/cold cycles it goes through in operation. An analogy is a fuse that is run close to it's rated value. The wire gets hot & it eventually breaks....it does not blow from a current surge. It fails from metal fatigue. The Nichrome wire is wound on a...

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

If go-fish has a 2.100" rod journal 3.79" stroke crank then he can't get a 6.123" rod with a .984" pin, so the BRC pistons are of no use to you unless you can rework a set of rods, or just buy a set of pistons that have a .927" pin. Tom

Oil Rings, do I have a problem?

I suspect you would have blue smoke from the exhaust if excessive oil was getting into the combustion chamber.

    Spark Plug Advice Needed

Hysteric, Post #66....comes from NGK. You obviously know little about spark generation. Production cars used carbon string high tension leads, often with a resistance as high as 30,000 ohms. Then they had the series resistance of the rotor tip gap ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNND the series...

    [WANTED] Rallye dash tachometer

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

@go-fish The Molnar crank I got from a member here was at a good price. I think it’s the same one you got. (3.79 with 2.1 rod journals, 360 main) I’m using the Chevy 6.125 “power adder” rods because of a 671 blower on top. I’m already aware of the custom piston cost for my application. Little...

    68 Barracuda 340

Also pretty confident that all 1968 340 & 383 models were Formula S, unlike 1969. Tach or Vacuum gauge were optional on the package, and I have seen a couple of originals with 120mph speedos.

    Wrong Paint from Factory ?

Well numbers matching is a different category of checks to original paint. If the body numbers on a 1970 match the Vin on the dash, the VIN on the fendertag, and the VIN's on the motor and transmission then it is most likely correct. The caveat is that the body numbers may have been...

    1960 Valiant Restore: advice welcomed.

Some like it hot, some not. So, I pick up Mabelliene in time for the local car show, and she starts overheating. First the temperature gauge stays normal, then it slowly climbs to overheated range, then slowly works its way back to normal and then goes slowly back to overheating. This seems...

1967 Plymouth Barracuda - Fuel tank not vented properly??????

I have a 67. The vent tube runs into the framerail. It's purpose is to let air in as gas is consumed, (and let air out as gas is pumped into the tank, if you ram the pump into the tube and and eventually pull back a little when you're tired of it shutting off automatically). After filling the...
