Fel Pro 1008´s are a good head gasket choice for this setup, also the 1213´s for the intake. Regarding the timing chain cover Fel Pro TCS 45284 should fit. Michael

I would get an infra red temp gun and shoot it in several places to verify it is over heating. Shoot the thermostat area, both on the cylinder head side and the radiator hose side. Shoot the top hose right where it goes into the top tank. Shoot the bottom hose where it goes into the water pump...

Only reason I changed the one on Vixen was when I changed to electronic ignition. I took the original one off. Still have it in my organizer. It's still good.

I would say weight savings and the fact that you don't have the power brake booster as a limitation on camshaft size. Power brakes require a pretty strong vacuum signal, which somewhat limits the size of the camshaft. Lastly, in a car as light as an A body, power brakes are really not a necessity.

Higher pressure puts more fuel in a given place faster than lower pressure.
