Not original installed height or springs, never seen a seen or heard of 'rotators' before asking the question. I've only worked on a couple of SB heads previously and didn't run into this issue, been advised that it's not a drama if the valves can rotate as they are.

Never noticed before but the J heads I have just bought, the exhaust valve once fitted I can rotate the valve when the locks are fitted, is this normal as I am quite new to small blocks. thanks.

I bought a pair of 600 edelbrocks a few years ago off a mob in I think New York state in the US. They specialised in dual carbs etc and they were set up and worked great straight out of the box. I can't remember who they were :(

Hoping to use magnum crank with my LA pistons rods balancer etc

So if I get the magnum crank I will need a magnum balancer, I am using a steel flywheel for a 4 speed set up, I would like to think that it should all come together with a full rotating balance.

Yes, 360 LA cranks are getting hard to find, have a bloke that has a magnum crank hence my question.

Can I fit a 360 magnum crank into a 360LA block, I have looked around for info but have seen that pistons and rods in a magnum are lighter but thinking this could be overcome when balancing the parts? Basically use all LA internals but magnum crank. Any help appreciated here in Australia, :)

Building a 360 and have come up with these figures for my build at this stage using CC XE275HL, J heads 2.02/1.60. Will run on pump fuel 98 octane ULP which is same as 93 US octane I believe.

I have a set of J heads with 68cc chambers, I need 62cc to reach the 10.4:1 compression I need. I already have a set of Cometic head gaskets .060" which I will use. Has anyone milled them that far?

I am not sure whether these heads are J heads? They have been ported by the looks, they were on my 340 +.040" and worked well, my main question is will they work on a 318 +.040" I am building. Will be 10:1-10.5:1 compression, flat tappet hydraulic around .480" lift, will the intake valve clear...
