    Mech fan suggestions…..

Of course I read it, but I guess I didn't understand it, so thats on me. End of the day I don't have room for any type of clutch, so I'm continuing down my path to figure things out. I did drive the car this weekend with the tweeks - dialed back the timing, higher octane, and pusher fan...

What am I checking for on the hose, that it continues to flow, or that its not collapsing with rpm?

    Mech fan suggestions…..

I'm doing direct drive out of necessity, as it's all I can fit, no room for a clutch. I still don't understand why people are saying you need a clutch???? I think the DD set up has better pull and take sup less room.

    Mech fan suggestions…..

Thanks! - Never thought of the lower hose, will check it out, but truthfully I think my issue is much bigger - or rather I simply nee more cooling capacity.

Why do you say a clutch is mandatory?

"mine is 3 1/2'' also , griffin 2 row, w/ 1 1/4'' tubes . cut the mounting brackets off and heli arced 1 1/2'' x 1 1/2'' angles flush with the front , to get that ." How much did that adjustment gain you in depth? Thanks.

    Mech fan suggestions…..

Looks like a great set up. I have 3.5" between the cross support to the flat on the water pump pulley, how many inches thick is your rad/fan set up? Not sure why everyone keeps saying to ditch the flex fan, have stated and pics confirm I'm running a hard blade fan, and it's direct mount - I...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

I definitely no question do not have room for a clutch fan. The radiator sit right up against the cross support and cannot be moved forward..... not without cutting or modifying the cross support. The one pic where there is no fan is with my older March pulley set up, but the pic next to it...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

In light of the hot weekend coming, which will be perfect for testing, I'm doing just the following to see if each little change contributes enough so that as a whole it does the job. 1) I'm putting a 12" pusher fan back on the front, to help overall but especially at lights when the mech fan...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

Agree 100%. End of the day I'd like to run 160/165, and maybe it'll jump up to 180/185 max. but never past that, I just don't want to have to worry about engine temps even on a hot day, and just drive the car. Others have done it, so can I, just need to come up wit the ight combo.

    Mech fan suggestions…..

I'm running a Griffin 26" aluminum rad 3 core. I was told (right or wrong) that this was the largest rad they make or that I could fit. The height is good as it sits , but the outter edges sit outside of the cross support opening and don't get any cooling. I have a hi flow 165 degree stat...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

Dana67. car will hold in the 160-165 area for about the first 15-20 min, then slow and steady rise. Again I'm talking hot day, can push to 200-210 with normal street driving, and if I'm caught at a light I'll reach 220 in the time it takes just sitting there and have to shut it down. Highway...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

512 - I'm sure it's a great set up, don't get me wrong, I'm just limited in what I can put in due to the lack of space I have. I am looking at every option to include, custom fan, relocating the water pump to create more room, or having a custom cross support made to allow for a larger radiator...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

512 - currently running a aluminum hard blade race fan, no flex fan here. Also fan is hard mount to the pulley, no clutch, saving every 1/8” of space possible. If I could get a 19” 7 blade fan that would be perfect but no one makes one that I can find. I can even find a 7 blade 18” fan, if you...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

Scody, sounds like a great set up, wish I had the room to run something like that, but I’m running this thin fan cause lol…I can’t fit anything else in there. MV, running a shroud. set up I have now with griffin rad and this fan is ok if the day it’s hot, but when it is hot I’m shutting it...

    Mech fan suggestions…..

I have a 72’ Dart with a big motor, and still having cooling issues on a hot day. One of a couple changes I’m looking at is to upgrade my mech fan, but the challenge is due to the motor I don’t have a lot of room between the rad and the water pump pulley. Im currently running an 18” 6-blade...

Where to buy Mopar Ralley wheels?

I’m going to check back spacing on both front and rear, just to be sure, but I wonder if it’s really needed? Every Ralley rim I see no matter the mfg or seller are all the same- 14x6 come only with 4” BS, and the rear 14x7 only comes with 4.25” BS. No matter what I actually have, that’s all I...

Where to buy Mopar Ralley wheels?

All - thanks for all the leads. I recognize how difficult it is to find anything in 14" but don't feel like dealing with any fitment issues, so I'm keeping it small. I'm confident that one or some of these leads will get me connected with what I need. I am going to pull a front and rear to...

Where to buy Mopar Ralley wheels?

Hellrats - thanks for the lead, will check them out. Thanks to all of your quick replies. I know there's a set out there somewhere, just need to find them. I need to pull a front and rear and measure the back space on them. Standard BS seems to be 4" for the front and 4.25" for the rear, but...

Where to buy Mopar Ralley wheels?

Looking to buy a set of Mopar Ralley rims, 5x4" - 14x6 front with a 195/70/14 tire, and a 14x7 rear with a 215/70/14 tire. Talked with Coker, and they don't have the fronts and don't know when they'll get them. They also have no 195's at all, so they're kinda out. Is there another seller who...

    Electric or mech fan?

I can't believe the noise level would be greater than the motor, or at a level as to become a nuisance? Not worried about Hp, this is a cruz night car anyways, with the motor detuned down to 740hp for streetability I can afford to lose a couple..lol. My biggest concern right now is cooling...

    Electric or mech fan?

I’m going with an 18” 6-blade mech fan because I could get one this week. I’d like to get the 7-blade version, but do you know if that 7-blade really pulls that much more air? Is it worth changing to it over the winter (Ex.)?

    Electric or mech fan?

FB, You bring up some good points. For what it's worth, I'm running a 26" Griffin radiator - largest that will fit in my Dart, and I'm running a good water pump that's over driven. I currently have a sized disk instead of a thermostat because the stats I found I thought were crap - is the flow...

    1962 Dodge Lancer Wagon

Does anyone know whether the 1962 Dodge Lancer Wagon which came with a 170 slant 6 motor - was that the only motor ever offered from the factory? Was this car ever offered with a V8? As far as I can tell the slant 6 was the only motor, just looking to see if someone else knows better? Thanks...

    Electric or mech fan?

In talking with some guys I trust, they've said that for any cons, the mech fan will out-pull an electric fan all day long, not even close. If I want the best cooling options I should go mech.

    Electric or mech fan?

Due to my lack of space between the rad and water pump, I previously ran a pusher as the main fan - with little success. If I ran that same pusher as a back up, would it hurt my cooling capacity with a mech or electric puller fan by blocking the front side? Guess I'm asking is it worth running...
