Bob's Component Resto Part 36: Dusty gets a new motor, chapter one.

No, I'm having a very experienced engine builder in Dayton MN do the job. I've never rebuilt an engine or a transmission. Since this car is a keeper and I want to drive it with confidence from coast to coast, it has to be rock solid reliable. At my age, I'm not planning on anymore engine...

You should own a green car meme!

Original owner of my '69 he special ordered the car F3 green with green interior. Could have ordered red, blue, white ect but no he purposely ordered it to look like the green car on the cover of the '69 sales brochure. That's what he picked on purpose. Then sat around and waited for his new...

You should own a green car meme!

Nice looking truck! I came "this close" to buying one just like it Back in The Day (same color, wheels, etc), but with a V8. Looking back I'm glad I didn't buy it, as I was on Commission based sales at the time, and my take home pay dropped-off considerably soon after.

    360LA Clutch Fan

Looking to my ABody Friends for a little help, I’m rebuilding a 1976 360LA engine to put in my 66 Barracuda. I found an era correct Mopar Viscous 5 blade offset clutch fan that I would like to use on this engine. I’m having a problem finding a replacement clutch where the shaft of the clutch...

    Headers

I hate to pick a fight with the pros but I'm assuming yall have tried Swain coatings and can counter their claims? I have been seriously considering it and it is costly.

    Predator heads

Sorry to hear of Mr. Covalt's passing, I admired the development of those heads & system. I'm not sure anybody on this site has directly challenged those, I'd like to see a vid of a flow test, that's honkin'. Assuming they are used on large-bore aftermarket blocks, I can see that in a 4.5"...

If the pitman arm is split on one side with a pinch bolt, try drivin' a chisel into the gap after bolt removed.

    You're best guess please.

That cam is small for a blown 408. With the nice heads it's probably 475 naturally aspirated. Approx power level: Boosted HP = NA HP x (boost pressure + atmospheric pressure)/atmospheric pressure. 475 x (10+14.7)/14.7 = 790 HP. This is idealized so you have to factor in things like...

What cam to use in a 318

Those are fairly obvious observations. If you use 1967 pistons (and change nothing else) on an 8.8 engine, what is the new compression ratio? If you use 1986 pistons (and change nothing else) on an 8.8 engine, what is the new compression ratio? If you use 5.2 Magnum pistons (and change nothing...
