Maybe a black band through the middle of the lower molding. You could even check it out by using black duct tape to see if it looks right.

Does anyone have one or two 30 over L-2316 pistons laying around? Used or new does not matter. Two pistons in a used set that I have are damaged. One being completely unusable.

One more thing. Make sure you are getting voltage to the coil while cranking. If it is not, you will only get fire when releasing the key from the "Start" to the "Run" position. (I ran into this after a rebuild.) If you think that this is a possibility; run a TEMPORARY wire from the hot side...

A relay using the original plug to switch direct power from the battery is the simple and effective approach to get "brighter headlights on these older cars". ..... No need to reinvent the wheel. I have used a ford starter relay to power up Landing Lights ...You don't get brighter than that BTW.

Do a section at a time. Tape clear plastic to the panel and inject or pore paint stripper into a slit cut in the plastic. Without trapping too much air, tape over the slit and spread the contained stripper around on the panel surface. This works like a charm. The paint stripper is not...

Maybe the fuel line itself is heating up, despite the insulation. This happened to me some years ago while I was stationed in Oklahoma. The excessive heat and the cheap gasoline conspired to pressurize my fuel bowls. If I remember correctly a cool can and some minor rerouting of the fuel line...
