    [SOLD] 273 short block

That casting number was used from 64-66. The casting date will be on the other side of the block. If it was original to a 64 Barracuda, it's not the right date for me.

    Cleaning Greasy Old Bolts

I had a really large batch once. I put them in a cement mixer with 50 lbs of sand some water and some purple degreaser. It got most of it off, but I still had to media blast them and chase the threads before sending them off for plating.

[WANTED] 65 273 with A/C alternator brackets and hardware

The alternator bracket is NOT the same between AC and non-AC cars. AC cars used a cast iron alternator bracket in 1965. Here is my thread from when I was trying to piece together the correct brackets. I think it will help you you. 1965 Factory Air Pulleys and Belts Are you trying to get...

    Determining 1967 273 numbers matching?

The way I look at it, if you're going to sink $2500 plus into an engine rebuild, you might as well spend a few hundred extra to source a date correct block. It might not add value today, but down the road, who knows?

    Determining 1967 273 numbers matching?

Chrysler didn't start VIN stamping motors until 1969. The best you can do is check the dates. You have the casting date of the block, heads, manifolds, etc. The numbers stamped into the front of the engine give the assembly date. First letter is the model year starting with A for 65, B for 66...

    Dart on a rotisserie

I had no trouble going the full 360. No roof, but still a windshield frame. Maybe my rotisserie is taller. It was a Craigslist purchase and there was no identifying information on it. But it's plenty stout.

    Dart on a rotisserie

Here's what my convertible looked like once I got it balanced. You can see that I replaced the T-brackets with a straight pieces of square tube to get the car higher and the axis of the rotisserie lower.

    Dart on a rotisserie

Your rotisserie is just like mine. Looks like you are on the highest setting possible using the T bracket. Does that car have a roof?

    Dart on a rotisserie

I had a hard time getting my 65 convertible to balance because I couldn't get it high enough. I ended up replacing the T shaped pieces with straight lengths of square tube. This put the pivot point at the same level as the bumper brackets which worked pretty well. Obviously a hard top will be...

    [FOR SALE] 1965 Barracuda Parts

Interesting. That engine was cast on a Monday and assembled that Friday. Just curious if you don't mind, what's the build date of the car you are parting out? It should be the first three digits on the bottom left corner of the fend tag. I only ask as a data point to understand the lag...
