    69 Dart 440 Convertible

Hey George, No problem bringing the car by. My pleasure! The radio sounds great. I'm glad because the Ebay radio is junk! Looking forward to more pics! I will check out the shocks first, then the alignment. If I need to align it I will. It's kind of a pain doing it in my garage because it is...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

Me too! Weed whacked and cut grass, then pulled out the radio and found the interference problem. It was one of the two wires that are part of the speaker, grounding to the speaker frame. I just insulated them and all is well. I actually like a.m. radio. Reminds me of the old days! I checked...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

George, I couldn't get the pipes apart at the mufflers to make them short enough to fit in the trunk without messing them up so I air chiseled the joint at the down tube to front pipe. You will need to cut off as needed anyway to adapt to you fender well pipes. But it will be a breeze to...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

No doubt these pipes will sound great with that big block George! Glad you can use them! See you Saturday. I'd like to show you what I've done to the dart George, but as long as I am going your way, I'll save you a trip and briing the pipes in the truck.

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

Hi George! You can have the old system no charge. Thanks for the offer on the paint. I will take you up on it if you have any left. If you are around this weekend I will will give you a call and maybe stop by. The reason I say the engine was overhauled is because the pistons are .030" over...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

Hi George! I know is sounds crazy but it really looked like oil. I agree it didn't make sense coming from the head gaskets, but I laid under the car while it was running and I could see black oily stuff bubbling right in the seam between the head and the block. It wasn't oil, it was antifreeze...

Should I go Big block or Small block?

The engine was built by M&R Engines, Glendale California. They claim to have built the same stroker motor for Boyd Coddington's Bud Lite Roadster. I should have said my experience was on a 350 Chevy small block, and should not base my opinion on that alone. It is good to know that Mopars allow...

Should I go Big block or Small block?

Maybe I should have said my experience was with a stroked 350 chevy built by M&R Engines. These guys claim to have built Boyd Coddington's engine that he used in his Bud Lite Roadster. I never stroked a Mopar engine so I guess I shouldn't assume the depth of the cut is the same. If you don't...

    69 swinger stock exhaust

If you buy your system from Waldron Exhaust, you need to tell them to bend the L/H pipe at the exhaust manifold flange, about 1 inch lower. They bent my pipe a little to high and the pipe did not clear the starter. It hit the solonoid studs. I cut it off and welded the previous down tube to the...

    Exhaust question?

I removed a summit kit that was installed by the previous owner. It required 16 clamps! Too many peices. I ordered a complete aluminized exhaust system for my 69 340 Dart from Antique Exhaust Systems. They are online. The system sounds great and fits well with one exception. They didn't make the...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

Hi George! I hope all is going well on your project. I finished the head gasket replacement on mine and took her out for a ride. Everything went great! It's amazing how much punch that 340 has! The head gaskets on both sides were beginning to seep a mix of antifreeze and carbon between the...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

George, the vert looks outstanding! Can't wait to see you and the car this summer. I pulled the heads off the dart. Had an oil leak on both sides between the head and the block. Very wierd. Not a lot but any leak bothers me. Anyway I will have it back together this week as I am off. I replaced...

Should I go Big block or Small block?

Go with the 340 if you have one. Great motor not too heavy. Personnally I don't like strokers. They are not natural. Have to cut deep into the block water jacket to clear the rod bolts and sometimes counterweights. My stroker (crate engine), let go in the machined cut between #3 and #5...

    Hello Mopar Lovers

I am new to this forum but not to Chrylser products. Growing up I owned 17 different Mopars, most of them under $500.00. Some I wish I still had today! My last project was a body off restoration on a 1968 Corvette Convertible. I liked the car, but found myself browsing ebay for Super Bees'...
