    my 63 valiant daily driver

Man that's a really impressive spray paint job. I'm going to get mine painted the traditional way, but what I've decided to do is spray the engine bay and all the other stuff with color matched paint of the color the car's going to be. Yours looks great, hope mine turns out like that!

    my 63 valiant daily driver

Nice ride! Are you spraying that primer on out of a rattle can or are you using a compressor? I'm getting ready to do body work on mine and trying to decide how I want to do it.

    Project 66 valiant "more pics"

I've got a 66, it's great to see somebody going so far on a car that's often overlooked or under appreciated. Keep up the good work, you'll really have something special when you finally get it done!

    68' Dart "The Huntress"

Really nice ride! Can I ask you some questions about the one Shot? I've never heard of it, looked it up and it's pinstripe paint, correct? Did you just brush that on the whole engine bay? I'd love to paint under my hood and also the firewall/skirts but I don't want to spray it. Did you...

Making a Slant 6 look, and sound cool

Just my personal opinion (your opinion is just as valid), it's a 6 banger. It's never going to sound really mean without spending a lot of money, and then it'll be false advertising :) Also I'd say that a 70 Dart isn't a muscle car. A car of that vintage is so old, that if you want to...

PCV Chimney / Stove Pipe questions

Hi folks! I have a 225 I'm getting back how it should be, and one of the things I'm doing is taking that DAMN chrome valve cover off that I put on it back when I didn't know any better. So I bought an old valve cover and cleaned it up, painted it, and installed it. Much better because it...

Question about cleaning coolant out of oil passages!

Matt, I had one that I beat the crap out of, it took me an HOUR to get the filter off (I think when it's hot it's harder to remove). The next day, my hands were hurting and I couldn't remember why, then I remembered how long I'd tried twisting that damn thing. Thank you everybody for the...

Question about cleaning coolant out of oil passages!

Hi folks! I've got an old '66 Valiant with a slant six in it, I love this thing I've had it forever. About a year ago, I blew the head gasket on it; it was ultimately because I had a leak in the radiator and overheated the engine, blew the gasket. The motor was rebuilt probably 50/60,000...

    1966 Dart Bucket Seats & Back Seat - $400

Hi Folks! I have these seats out of a '66 2 door Dart that i"ve been holding onto forever, I was going to put them in my Valiant but decided against it, I'm keeping the bench seats! They're in pretty decent shape considering their age, I'd rate them an 8 out of 10. They still have the original...

Can a heater fan relay short out?

Folks, the heater in my old Valiant hasn't worked in a few years. Specifically, if you hook up the heater relay, the fuse blows. The relay is on top of the heater box. If you run a jumper wire under the hood to the heater fan, it turns on and works fine. I've used an ohmeter on the relay...

Can you paint the engine bay with the engine still installed?

Definately! I mean, where do you put all the oil and brake fluid, dust and anti-freeze that gets all over everything ????

    Make my own Kick Panels?

Hi folks! I've got a '66 valiant more-door, that I'm putting new carpet in, and those old, destroyed kick panels i've been driving around with for years have got to go. Any ideas or good pictures of what you other guys have done? On these early A-bodies, the kicks are just flat pieces of...

Scared to pull the trigger on weatherstripping

Dan I did just what you suggested, this is different stuff than the stuff I used years ago. I just put this Metro rubber stuff on and it is much much nicer than the other stuff that I believe I bought from Laysons years back. The doors took a little slamming but it looks great. I'll update...

    Help! My starter fell off.

Folks, about 6 months ago my starter went bad. This is a 66 valiant, slant six 225 that we rebuilt several years back, runs pretty good now. Anyways, about 6 months ago I got a replacement from the local parts house, and since I've had bad luck in the past buying replacement starters...

Need a factory steel wheel for a '66 Valiant

Texas Dart that sounds great, but I think 1 will do me. I'm not 100% on how to measure a bolt pattern, but I just gave it my best shot anyways:) If I measure from the center of one bolt, then skip one, the center of the next bolt is 3 13/16" away from the center of the first bolt. Is that...

    63-66 Valiants

I guess it's to each his own, and i'm partial of course, but I think the 4 doors look much better than the 2 doors in these year valiants. It might just be a trim thing though. 66 4 door looks much much nicer than a 66 signet. Hard to compete with the convertible, though :)

Need a factory steel wheel for a '66 Valiant

Folks; I have a 66 valiant (4 door) that I switched over from 13" wheels to 14" wheels years ago. The way I did this was by removing them from a '66 Dart I had access to. For whatever reason, I didn't grab the spare! So now I've been driving around off and on in this baby for over 10...

    63-66 a-body rear seat interchange?

Just to add what I've found out, the two door and four door seats are different too, they'll probably fit but they have a different 'curve' where it meets the side of the car, or the door on the 4 door. I suppose just because on the 4 door it's more curved to facilitate getting in and out of...

    Desert Car Kings

I've been watching several of these shows this weekend. Generally I don't have a problem with what they do to the cars, I agree, they're getting them back out on the road. I just hate all the b.s. the producers pull with editing, or the little scripted storylines, or whatever. It insinuates...

Scared to pull the trigger on weatherstripping

Alright, I suppose I really don't have a choice... I've done the Trunk seal a while back, your'e right I had to slam it for a while. I'll order some of this windlace and report back how it goes. Ron

    65 barracuda

I can't believe you saved that car. That's without a doubt the worst condition Barracuda I've ever even seen a PICTURE of, much less in a junkyard. I dont' even see how some of that rot is possible, you'd think the water would have fallen off before it did some of that damage, lol. It's almost...

Scared to pull the trigger on weatherstripping

Man, I am SO with you on this one. I have a 66 valiant (4 DOOR). Years ago, I bought Windlace from Laysons, put it on, and the doors wouldn't close properly. I shimmed them out, and never did get it right, I heard lots of other complaints back then about the bulb being too big on the...

    66 Valiant heat/ac fan question

The blower motor is good because when I run 12v straight from the battery to it it works fine. The resistor seems to be fine too, I'm getting (off the top of my head!) something like 2.0ohms resistance on one side, and .9ohms resistance from the lead closest to the wire going to the blower...

    66 Valiant heat/ac fan question

O.K., I checked all the wiring and everything's plugged in where it goes, but it's blowing the heater fuse. I'm going to pull the fuse box and look behind it to make sure nothing's shorting it out...Does anybody have any idea of what else runs off of the heater /ac fuse? I'm looking at some...

    66 Valiant heat/ac fan question

Well, today with good sunlight I looked around and on the drivers side fenderwell was an extra harness tucked away, apparently when we hooked everything up we couldn't figure out where that went and just kind of put it to the side. It had the heater blower motor hookup (which was green) and a...

    66 Valiant heat/ac fan question

Thanks Steve, I think I've got a service manual around here somewhere I'll try to dig out. I asked my brother about it and he seems to think that we've got some more wiring in storage that could be the engine harness from the a/c car, maybe that's my problem. I'm surprised though that the...
