    904 2-3 flare (again)

It would have been nice if the transmission came with that instruction. I've messaged the shop again, and asked them if this us in fact the case. (They're supposed to be a reputable shop) The trans is out now. So the clutch pack will at least be getting inspected before it goes back in...

Is this a thing? The shop who built it said the kickdown linkages could be deleted?

Best of all, My phone slipped out of my pocket, and landed in the drain pan full of the trans fluid I'd drained out too. Even better, I didnt realise for about ten minutes.......

    904 2-3 flare (again)

904, manual valve body, "drag free". Behind a mild stroker. (Iron heads, flat tappet cam) built by a reputable shop. Its always had a flare on the 2-3 shift when shifted at wide open throttle. A search of this forum says incorrect kickdown linkage adjustment can be the culprit. However being...

318 head porting for the average joe

So what numbers is it flowing with just the bigger valve added? Do you have a picture of what you used to make the 70° cut?

Is there such thing as a good lifter?

I'm no machinist, but I would have thought soluable oil would have been more appropriate than wd40 as a cutting lubricant? Walk into a machine shop, and the place stinks of it. (I quite like the smell, it reminds me of freshly machined engine parts) Edit, @ that LA-Phant video

Hey @MOPAROFFICIAL Any progress with the above picture? I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who's curious to see what kind of numbers the larger valve produces?

67-69 Dart front fender bracing structures.

Please dont flame me if this has been thrashed out before, I've got a '70 aussie chrysler valiant sedan. The body's are very similar to the 67-69 dart/valiant/etc. (I'm not sure about the nuances between those models, as they were never sold here) About 15 years ago I had it all paneled and...

    [WANTED] 302 heads

I'm looking for a pair of 302 heads. A family friend has a container leaving Seattle to come down here to New Zealand in a bit over a week. So the closer to Seattle the better. (I'm not a wealthy man, and iron heads aren't going to be cheap to send too far) Anybody able to help?

When is a 904 too small?

We installed the trans. the whole transmission was bought complete from this trans shop. currently running no kickdown at all because it's full manual. Should we be? I told the shop we're not running one.

When is a 904 too small?

At what power level is a 904 no longer big enough? Here's the story. a couple of years Back My dad bought a drag free 904 w/full manual valve body from a reputable shop. The car is an Aussie Valiant hardtop. (Very similar to a 68 Dart) Runs a 340/418 stroker. In the time it's been in there...

    904 Flares on 2-3 shift?

I think we do need to talk to the guys who built the trans. They're a reputable firm, with many many glowing reports on the www. I also googled my problem and found a number of similar threads. (Most on this site! Haha.)

    904 Flares on 2-3 shift?

We removed all the kick down parts last time the trans was put for a TQ swap. Maybe they are needed? Or does a MVB make them redundant?

    904 Flares on 2-3 shift?

If this the case? It's no biggie to refit that. I only drive the car on the strip. I'll have to ask the owner if he's noticed it driving on the street too. Should probably email the shop who built it too. (no doubt he'll be doing that, but I thought I'd ask you guys too) The car certainly...

    904 Flares on 2-3 shift?

My apologies if this has been thrashed out before, But we have a 904, bought from a reputable shop. It's a full manual valve body "drag free" (What ever drag free means?) 904. Supposed to be a pretty good unit. According to the shop who supplied it. However when I'm racing, and really have the...

    Quick offset bush question

    Quick offset bush question

Sorry if this has been discussed before. But when fitting the offset upper control arm bushings, Do you fit them to the front, the rear, or both bush pockets (With diametrically opposed offsets) in the arm? They're sold as a pair. So I was wondering if maybe running them both cranked up the...

Slant six intake manifold flanges, anyone got a cad file?

They're actually off a triumph 2500 sedan. (I'm not sure if you guys got them over there?) They were the top selling car here for a few years. (Pretty sad really) I went and saw my mate with the water jet cutter last night. He said he can work with that scan. I'll PM you my email.

Slant six intake manifold flanges, anyone got a cad file?

So long as they came out at 1:1 then that should.work. I not only don't have a manifold handy to trace, but also no scanner. (I'm a bit of a vege at technology) If you were able to.do that and email it to me, that qould.be awesome! I have no idea about which model.carbs are. They're all one...

Slant six intake manifold flanges, anyone got a cad file?

That ebay listing doesn't state if they're made from steel, or aluminium. Plus I'm in New Zealand. By the time I got them sent here and took a hit on the dismal exchange rate getting them cut locally will definitely work out cheaper. Here's a picture of the carbs I'm. Going to use. Based on the...

Slant six intake manifold flanges, anyone got a cad file?

Im looking at building a custom three carb manfold for a 225. A mate of mine works at a place that can do wate jer cutting of the aluminuim for the flanges. Ive got gaskets for the carbs. But I don't have a spare manifold to copy the flanges off. (Its still on a running car) They charge $100 to...

diff ratio, much of a difference?

I'm actually quite suprised how nicely it hooks up. An old car of mine I used to race was terrible to launch. It took.me a long time to.learn to balance what little traction it had. Then when I fitted drag radials I broke an axle.before I could unlearn that to suit the improved grip. Given this...

diff ratio, much of a difference?

I don't recall exactly what the stall speed is. But I think it's around 3400. 60ft is currently 1.950. I have no idea what the car weighs. Unlike with the street tires (which it can cremate at will) the m&H tires seem to bite quite hard. The car still runs a BW75 diff with 25 spline axles too...

My dad kindly let me run has valiant at the Drags, Saturday just been. Aside from the huge wad of cash he's sunk into the motor, Trans, and converter, the car is little changed from how it was when he first bought it back in '81, or '82. (I must have been about 5 when he bought it) currently...
