The paper lower plenum gasket fails, causing oil consumption and pinging. Get the metal replacement from the dealer and you will be good to go. Nice find.

Check the air gap in the distributor. Use a brass feeler gauge. If its to far out, it wont start. Just had a similar problem on my dads Fury.

This is my 1971 Dart. She was my dads and now she is mine. She stayed for hurricane Katrina and took a swim. So I'm going to take her all the way down, drop in a 360, and roll with it. More pics to come, should have the engine and trans out today.

I'm parting out my 1971 Dart. Slant 6, 904 trans. Im going with a 360, so all the slant 6 related stuff is up for sale. The car was flooded so the mechanical is no good, but the hard parts are ok. PM.

I think painting it the same as the body makes the engine bay look cleaner.

Ok here are a few pics. Backstory, she was a daily driver from an old lady. My dad bought it and cleaned it up new carpet, seats and brakes. Then Katrina hit. She was 6 feet under water. Now shes mine and going to get a total resto.
