    Borg and beck adjusting

Hey Daves69, Do you use loctite on the adjusting screws? It's just a cheap slanty clutch so I don't have a problem tacking the bolts once adjusted either but I was just curious. josh

    Borg and beck adjusting

Yeah to be honest I never had to mess with pressure plate adjustment either. This is clutch number two for this car. So hopefully third ones the charm. Especially since I have some direction on checking it before i install it.

    Borg and beck adjusting

It shifted great for a few months then it started requiring more pedal to get it into gear. Until the point where you couldn't get it into gear while it was running. It was a gradual thing. When I pulled the clutch out the fingers and friction surface of the pressure plate are uneven. The first...

    Borg and beck adjusting

Hey fellas! I've got a 67 dart slant 6. It has a 75 duster 833od. One of the pressure plate finger adjusters loosened up on my napa hd clutch kit after about 1k miles. I can't find much info on setting the finger height or even how much gap I should have between disc and pressure plate when the...

    Quick coil question

I did rebuild the carb before trying to start it. It had gummed up and needed tore down and rebuilt. It ran so poorly i put a new eddy 600 carb on it. It kept stalling here i figured out the mechanical advance weights were sticking in the dizzy. So i Tore the dizzy apart which had light weight...

    Quick coil question

So... Im trying to revive my car that was in storage for years. The car ran like crazy 10 years ago after countless hours of tuning (shaved head offy intake 600 holley) didn't miss a beat! But storage didn't do the car any good. It's A 67 slanty has electronic ignition. Also electronic voltage...

    Draw throughs..... lets see them!

yeah I like the simplicity too. We'll see If I find a blow through carb in the meantime things may change. I'd really like to run two turbo's just for some cool dual exhaust action! Plus I have these two tiny turbo's that in a pair would be perfect for a low rpm low boost slant. [/IMG]

Got me a new truck with a slant Six, what should I do?

I wonder Was there ever any 3/4 ton trucks built with slants?

Got me a new truck with a slant Six, what should I do?

that truck is awesome! I say tune it up good and call it a day. Nice find!

    Is it worth it?

Go with the holley 600cfm 4bbl vacuum secondaries. It's like putting a 6-pack on a 318. You can get anything you need to tune a holley or rebuild it for cheap and you will never run out of carb with vacuum secondaries. I drove mine up 81 from Harrisburg PA to Syracuse NY at 75-80mph and got 27mpg.

    1967 383 heads "516" closed chamber

We ended up putting eddy heads on the motor these were to go on. They are reconditioned and ready to bolt on. They replaced the springs and seals lapped the valves and skimmed them just to make sure they were straight. As far as I know that's all that was done to them. If you are putting...

    Buddies 170 is a DOG!

I was going to suggest that. Change the springs I do that to all my mopars electronic or points. And I don't bother running the vacuum advance. Then crank up the timing while its off idle. BIG difference in slant performance! Mine goes full advance at like 1200rpm or something. Check the...

    Buddies 170 is a DOG!

I didn't realize the smaller slants were that bad? My 66 225 slant will roast one tire for a mile it seems from a standstill. Now it has the little stock 13"s on it and by all means no contest to most cars on the road but it's kinda fun winding her up getting on the highway. Maybe play with the...
