    It only took 37 years....

ok, so it's been a while. I have basically been in the parts gathering stage of the project. I have found almost all of the interior parts, and am getting ready to do ball joints and bushings. Once I start taking stuff apart I'll post more pics. But there's other news... Along the way I sold...

    What's the WORST car/truck you've owned?

The worst car I ever owned was a 1985 Hyundai Excel. Biggest POS I ever had the misfortune to own, and I swore I would never, ever own another Hyundai as long as I lived. I hate to admit it, but the new Genesis is making me re-think that.....

American Raci ng Chrome Torque Thrust D 15x8.5 5x4.5 pattern

Hi All. I have 2 AR Torque Thrust D chrome wheels in a 15x8.5 flavor for the big bolt pattern (5x4.5). These were mounted once, but are in perfect condition. (tires not included). $400 for the pair. They fit great on the back of a Dart, but not the front. I had to get different wheels...

    It only took 37 years....

Some progress. Its hard to get stuff done during the week because of work and all, but I still managed to get a couple things done. First up, registration. The car hasn't been registered since '96, and as I thought, it has dropped out of the system. However, the car has changed hands a couple...

    It only took 37 years....

Ok, so a slight hiccup....was playing around with it last night, and found gas in the oil, and at least the #2 and #4 plugs are wet with gas. I don't think its fatal (and yes, I know to be careful of spun bearings), but it does need to be addressed, immediately. The things that come to mind...

    It only took 37 years....

Deal, but I have to tell you, the tires are good for rollers only. The car sat in the desert for a long time, and the tires have dry rot.

Close..... She hit a parked trailer doing about 35 - 40 mph. Took out the lower control arm, sway bar link, steering link, and broke the axle. Also wasted the lower ball joint, and popped the tire and broke the wheel. Fun stuff.

    It only took 37 years....

ok, so I fixed the Lincoln, and then it was time to dig into the Dart. The first thing we noticed, other than the HORRIBLE miss, was the rediculously loud exhaust. They PO had put on some ricer can muffler that was really just a straight pipe through a can. We replaced it with a 40-series...

    It only took 37 years....

I got it!!!! I picked it up yesterday morning and then we drug it over to my buddy's shop. But before I could work on the Dart, I had to fix my Lincoln that my daughter thoughfully wrecked for me while getting her 2nd DUI. That's a whole other story, but before I get into the dart....what's...

No pics yet (just a couple of crappy craigslist pics...posted in the Welcome Wagon). Believe me, I'll have pics starting from picking it up and putting it on the trailer all the way to driving it to my first meet. 49 hours and counting... Here's some Jeep **** for you....this was my bitchin'...

Disk brakes, power steering, used to be an AC car but some distant DSPO took all that off. ZERO (read: zip, nada, nil, nothing) rust. I know I'm spoiled living out here :glasses1:

Well, it's time to start the build thread for my '73 Swinger. But first, a little back story.... I fell in love with Darts when I was 9 years old. My older cousin Holly got a Swinger for her 16th birthday, and I remember visiting the family in California and seeing that car for the first...

Hi all - New to A Bodies

I went and visited my car tonight. It is officially mine, although I'll have to wait until Sunday before I can get her home. It runs better than the guy said, and is exactly as described. This guy has my dream shop. Someday..... I can't wait!!!!!

    Odd state driving laws

I used to wheel my 5-speed jeep in HARD stuff wearing flip flops. I hate wearing heavy shoes in the desert when it's warm out.

    An accident thread.

I have that motor in my '95 Continental that I inherited from my mom...they had to DE-tune it to 260 HP for the FWD, and it's still a stupid quick car. Torque steer is a beatch, though...4.6L 32-valve V8 in a front drive car...what were they thinking?

Hi all - New to A Bodies

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll start a build thread in the restoration section once I pick it up (Sunday). It will be a Resto-Mod, but should be fun. Nothing fancy, just fun to drive. I'm hoping to give it to my little girl in 8 years when she turns 16. She'll get to help work on it the...

Hi all - New to A Bodies

Ha...I know all about flowmasters and loud. My neighbors hated it when I would start the Jeep and move it around. My 'Burb has a full flowmaster system on it, too. I love it. But magmaflow is easily available, so that's what I'm getting. :-)

Fairly mild. It comes with a set of headers (not installed, brand unknown at the moment). I'm gonna put on a edelbrock Performer 4 barrel manifold with a carter carb (a friend happens to have that combo available from his 318 Duster), magnaflow dual exhaust with crossover (not sure on the dump...

Hi all - New to A Bodies

Hi everyone! My name is Pete. I just recently left the Jeep world and have decided to get back into cars. I have wanted a Dart for a long time, and just bought a 1973 Dart Swinger (sorry for the crappy pics - I just bought it on CraigsList and am taking delivery next weekend). It's a project...

    is A/C stuff worth selling?

Coming from the Jeep world here. I have had good luck with Sanden compressors for use as OBA. You have to periodically squirt duralube or some similar super lube through the system, like once a month or so. Run the compressor and give a good long squirt (30 seconds or so). I've had a Sanden...
