I do have the same 61C wheels but SB and Mastercraft tires on my 68 Barracuda with P215-65/15’s on the front. Was going to go the same route on the front of my Duster with BB 61C’s and T/As but am just curious if the taller 70’s would work with no rub.
Done with getting the rear tires I want so on with the front. I have P215-60/15 BF Goodrich T/A's on the front now that seem small. Anyone try putting P215-70/15's up front on their Duster w/o rub on the fenders? I have 61C Cragar SS's, 15X7 with 4" back space.
I'm glad I bought the 255's. No issues on back with the 8 1/4 rear and mounted on 61C 15X8 Cragars. Now going to get rid of these 205/60's.
Look like they belong on a Fiat.
215-65/15's T/A's should look better.
Yes. My ultimate interest is going back to the original drivetrain and most likely sell the 408. To each his own. All thru my darn near 50 years of restoring Mopars, my enjoyment is centered around original cars. I still want to drive the Duster while I'm working on the #'s 360.
Got the NGK 5’s in but haven’t started it yet. Those 7’s I took out, I cleaned over the weekend, are already sooted and wet with fuel after only about 10 miles of driving.
I find it odd though that it seems I'm going in the opposite direction with the plug heat range according to the NGK chart. This would be on the hot side for a standard/stock engine. Really hot for a high compression engine. I should be up in the 8-9 range.

Yes the main concern is getting closer to a stock situation. Buddy I sold the car too back in 2013 began setting the car up for better performance. The way it is now though it’s just not a highway driver at all. I see what you are saying though.
My focus is general drivability. Not torque, not et, not burning the tires bald. I’m working to put the Duster back to its original state which makes it more driver friendly on the highway and not have to invest in a gas station to drive the car.
Guy that installed the 3.73's lives in a good sized town with the main drag minutes away. I live in a very small town a highway runs thru so I'm a good 15 minutes from a good sized town. With the 3.73's I'm really turning the R's down the highway. I've had 3.55's in other cars and they also seem...
I'm working on getting my Duster back to the original drivetrain and was thinking of changing the 3.73SG gears back to the stock 3.21SG first. Anyone see any issues with having the higher gears in the rear for better highway driving connected to that 408? Tranny is the original 4 speed.
Thanks !!
I’m running a Weiand Stealth intake.
Also due to the lack of vacuum, the original power brake booster was removed and is running manual brakes now.
If I want to swap to an AVS 2 will this lack of vacuum effect secondary opening carb performance?
Thanks for the heads up on that. I have a set of 73 340 manifolds I bought to put on my 340 Cuda. Those probably the same?
Seth is DemonDuster still active on here? I bought this car from him back in 2011. He used to race it at the Pure Stock Drags.
