    Thanks guys, the carb spacer sounds good. I actually removed a steel separator plate sandwiched between two gaskets when I rebuilt the carb. As for timing, what is the proper setting. I set base timing at 10deg btdc when I installed the cam, and it didn't knock so I left it alone.

    I have an 8 3/4 with 55" flange to flange. The spring pads have been rewelded at 42 1/2. I would like to put it under my 73 Duster 318/904 but don't know if it is the right way to go. BTW it is open diff. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    It is an automatic, I jump battery stud to solonoid screw and it starts. The solonoid is the 4 terminal type. I will try these tests and let you know. Thanks for the info. BTW, I dig the fifth element pic.
