Been through Volo a couple of times, and maybe two cars there were worthy of any serious respect. A 58 Buick convertible and 61 Bubble top Impala. I went up there to see the DeSoto Adventurer once, and it was pretty depressing.

If I remember correctly, there were some defective ones being sold a couple years ago. I returned one of them I bought off of ebay due to improper fit, but there was also an issue with the wrong material being used to make them. Is that what happened here?

It has always been my perception from the context of the term being used, that it was a fault in the casting process. In other words, the core was not dead on center, when the block was cast.
