Yes, it's quite a common practice to fill areas that you don't want to get epoxy. In the mold all of those areas will actually get filled in with glass and epoxy to create a smooth surface. During the "mold making" process though I needed them plugged for the first step. If you look at the clay...

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

Okay....I couldn't hold off too much longer. Here's the next part of the Demon that will be done. One of my "hobbies" is making composite race car parts. After seeing what was available from the aftermarket I wasn't super pleased so I started making my own mold. I wanted to make ACTUAL carbon...

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

Hey Members, Small update. The "Krusty Demon" did its first race late last year. I picked up a tire and wheel sponsor (U-Pull and Save Auto Parts, Pontiac, MI) and boom...I was at a Detroit Region rallycross. Car needs some help (sways bars for example), but I ran pretty well in the dry and...

Thanks to a Gold, my buddy Tony, and my little brother my car is this far. I couldn't be at this point without them.

This one I'm particularly proud of. I had to go from the mechanical pump, up and around the pump, under the alternator, next to the water pump, and up and over to the carb. I only had to do it twice! Also got my line vent line made for our converted filler neck. I'll ad some supports a...

So I've been telling a lot of people how much I love AN fittings. This was my first experience with them and wow was making a good flare easy. Gold showed me how to do one of them and let me borrow his flaring tool. Finally, I enjoy the challenge of figuring out just where to bend the line...

It's in Pontiac, MI at and outside of the M1 Concourse. They are shutting down Woodward Ave on 8/19 between Rapid Street and South Boulevard to have street legal 1/8th mile drag racing. I believe you can still spectate, however all the spots for drag racing, car show, and what not are completely...

I predict many cones on the autocross course will look like this.

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

Small progress update. I needed to add an overflow bottle to run the drags at Road Kill nights. Another hand me down from gold came through. Now it didn't quite fit with my new aluminum radiator so I had to modify the bracket a little bit. I drilled out the rivet, pressed out the little...

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

Sorry for the cluster of photos without explinations. This is my first time using the latest version of the forum. So new three core aluminum radiator (plenty of clearance!), new sending unit (had to bend the filter up slightly to get it to fit), filler tube (made our own 70 filler neck ;) )...

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

So....more stuff is getting done and I'm much closer to firing the car. As a push I signed up for RoadKill Nights drag racing on 8/19 here in Pontiac, MI. I better get this thing going or I won't live it down. Goal is to drive the car on July 30th. That will give me a couple weeks to break it...

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

More updates coming soon. This weekend was huge, on Saturday we installed headers, brakes (filled and bled), steering, suspension, and the hood is back on! I need to go thru grease the steering components, recheck the brake lines, put a decent alignment to start and then I can drop it on it's...

I am quite literally Gold's A-body little brother. Every once and a while we try to get someone else to join the A-body brotherhood, but no luck so far.

    Project Track Demon - Eventually

Thanks to goldduster318 I'm even closer to having the Krusty Demon on the road this spring. It's going together quite well and I'm focusing on getting it together rather than making it perfect right now. Ask gold...I've got some really pretty painted and shiny parts that are being bolted onto a...

well I actually had to pull the pistons and rods from the block last night. Turns out the guy before me put the rods in the wrong holes. Chamfers on the rods weren't facing the right direction. Oh well everything went well last night and it's back together.

Update. So after finding a bunch of grit and grime in the engine I decided to pull it completely apart and thoroughly clean everything. Also needed to check the ring gaps to verify everything was good there. Found the cam bearings were a little worn so I decided to replace those as well...

Oh I also picked up a wood lathe with a few Harbor Freight coupons and made a shift knob for my DD (Saturn Ion 04). It's a fun new toy that I plan on making a bunch more knobs and projects. Thought you guys might enjoy it. Just another rabbit hole hobby for me to go down.

So I've made a bunch of progress over the last couple months. She's still on jack stands but I'm getting much closer to getting her back on her wheels. New spring pads are welded on the 8.75 and the test fit looks good. New ESPO springs with fully poly bushings are set to go on the car...
