Thanks for the reply. I do have a 340 bracket for the throttle cable but being the car the engine came out of was manual the bracket isn’t set up for the kick down arm. I guess I need a 340 bracket for an auto transmission.

Thanks for the quick reply. Holding the black button down and trying to unscrew the knob counter clockwise the plastic knob turns but the inner chrome sleeve does not. I put the set screw back in so I don't twist the spring inside. Is it the metal sleeve that should unscrew with the knob...

I have a 72 Duster automatic. I trying to replace the carpet and things. The shifter knob needs to be remove to pull the console up and over the shifting rod. I removed the set screw but pulling on the knob it feels spring loaded. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
