Not sure of the exact tire size on the old car, but I know the tires were comparable to what is on the Duster now. If there is slippage, would it be in the trans or converter? Any way to eliminate one or the other?

Tire size is 215/70/14. Height of tire is 25.25". Speedo gear is yellow-not sure of the teeth but I used the charts corresponding tire size to gear ratio to select the pinion. Trans shifts up to 3rd gear.

Hey there, My car is a 1970 Duster 340 auto with 8 3/4 diff. I need to replace the pinion seal and the parts guy at the local parts store says there are 2 seals available depending on wether the diff case is a 489 or 741. I checked my case and it is a 742. What seal do I use? Any ideas?

Does anyone know what style of fan clutch came stock on a 70 Duster 340 no a/c? Was it thermal or torque drive(non-thermal)? I suspect it was a non-thermal style but want to know if this is true before trying to locate one.

Did all 340 Dusters come with manual ft disc brakes in 1970 as standard equipment?

Took my gauge cluster out and spun the speedo with a drill-the needle still bounced around like it did when in the car. Guess ill need to see about another speedo

Do all 340 Dusters with rally dash have the woodgrain on the cluster? My car does not. However the dash bezel may have been rechromed and the woodgrain taken off. I don't know whether this is correct or not

My 70 Duster 340 speedo fluctuates between 0-30mph and smooths out above this. Have checked speedo drive gear and speedo cable. All seem ok Could it be a sticky speedo head? Is it possible to lube with light oil? I have heard of others doing this but wanted to hear your thoughts

What do you think is better for cooling at low speeds, factory 5 blade fan with clutch, or solid flex fan 6 blade w no clutch. Car is 70 Duster 340 stock motor.
