Put it in neutral & listened hard. Can't really hear unless I get under the wheel & then I hear it faintly. But loudest when the engine's working the hardest i.e. accelerating & up slopes etc.

Thanks Karl for updating everyone! "Flutter" is a perfect adjective to describe it. A very annoying flutter. Wasn't there before I had my trans meddled with by multiple mechanics. But––could be anything. I'll try putting it in neutral & listening later this afternoon.

I meant *godsends. And also getting the strut rod bushings replaced. Bill, the fact that "self-exciting" drum brakes exist is exactly why I'm now an anxious driver. The brakes were taken apart and cleaned and then adjusted a couple of months ago (again *apparently* as mechanics did the work)...

You guys are all god sends! I'm having the alignment done as I type this - should be ready tomorrow afternoon. The lower control arm bushings were bad, apparently, so they're being replaced. Don't know if all that will tidy up the brakes but we'll see. And thanks Karl for your offers of help...

Okay! Apparently it's the universal bolt. I was shown it needed to be greased badly as it was screwed in incorrectly. I'll try to take a picture. Gonna get my hands dirty (first time!) and attempt to grease it myself.

Hey! Don't have a oil pressure gauge. It's a 318, 4 barrel. Is that big block? The reason I think it's trans related is because I didn't hear it (if my memory serves me correctly) before I had the trans rebuilt. Ugh dear. I wish I knew my way around machines.
