The motor is a fresh crate engine. It was custom built and dyno’d 452hp and 465 torque. No power adders.

It has a Transgo shift kit with a 2800 stall now.

The 904 works good still but I’ve had it in the car for 24 years. I’ve always wanted a manual.

Wow great information. Thank you. I’m thinking 3.55 or 3.73 gears to slow me to still take it on the highway at a reasonable cruising rpm. The 3.23 are great for highway but it’s slow getting off the line. I have a 318 in it now that ran 14.4 @ 92 Mph but she was a bit lazy getting going...

Ok cool. Sorry I’m no mechanic and I’m still learning. A buddy of mine built a small block with a roller setup and he said he loved it. That cam you suggested is probably right where I should be given the overall build I’m looking to build.

Yup 3.23 with 245 60 R15 tire. I’d like to drop to a 3.73 gear maybe just to get things happening a bit quicker. I’d also like to upgrade to adjustable rockers and possibly a roller cam. Any ideas on a roller cam setup? Thanks

Sorry for the lack of info there. I don’t have the cam card as this is a very old build that was done by a shop many years ago. All I know is that’s a 340 spec purple shaft. What I do know is the bottom end is totally stock, 3:23 sure grip and a newly installed 2500 stall in the 904 tranny...

Currently running a 340 purple shaft cam with a 20 overbore with the 360 heads and airgap. I had a Huges whiplash cam in it for a couple of weeks but it had a tick in it from day one. Found out that it took one of the lobes out of it. Must have been a break in issue? Not sure. I’m just flat...

Those are very impressive numbers. This sounds incredibly affordable. I already have a Air Gap intake and 1 5/8 Doug’s long tubes. My heads actually only have the 1.88/1.60 valves with stock non adjust rockers. In your opinion I should probably look for a set of heads? As far as bore goes...

Holy I guess. That’d be a handful for sure. The biggest goal I have is that I want the car to go into the high 12’s maybe and be a fun street beast at the same time. The 318 is just too slow.

My car has factory disc brakes with upgraded 4 piston calipers but that’s about all. They do have a good amount and of stopping power. I’m really toying with the idea of building a stout 360 instead. It may be more in line with my budget. I blew the top of my restoration budget with paint...
