[FOR SALE] 1971 Duster numbers matching

I have decided to sell my Duster. I am the 2nd owner, clear title in my name, and Ive had it for about a year. The car is in such nice condition, and Ive spent so much time and money on keeping it original, that now I dont have the heart to tear it all apart for a hotrod build. Id rather sell it...

what types of primer can be used under single stage lacquer paint?

I removed the battery tray from 71 Abody, it had some battery acid corrosion in the paint. Luckily no rot or damage to the tray. Ive sanded to bare metal and will repaint it with some single stage lacquer, but I do not know what type of primer to use. Any suggestions?

    Heater box foam adhesive

Thanks. I followed your lead and sprayed only the foam for most of it, and glad I did because to evenly apply the adhesive on the doors or box you'd have to tape off a lot to avoid a huge mess

    Heater box foam adhesive

The 77 worked out great for the lighter foam on the doors and inner doors, and also the denser foam that goes between the boxes and cowl. I feel like you could peel up the foam if you really pulled hard, but the foam will never see that kind of force inside the heater box. On the white foam...

    Heater box foam adhesive

Do you use the adhesive on both the metal and the foam separately then stick them together?

    Heater box foam adhesive

No problem with the super 77, Just looking for opinions and experiences people have had whove done this and what they used.

    Heater box foam adhesive

I've prepped the metal flap doors for new foam in my 71 non ac heater box. I've got the foam kit from Detroit Muscle Technologies. Kit says to use 3m super 77 for adhering the foam, but I've read people saying to use 3M 90 spray adhesive, 3M yellow weatherstrip adhesive, and permatex black right...

How to scuff and paint metal inside cowl?

Makes sense, but there's got to be some members here who have figured some reasonable way of doing what I want to do without cutting open anything

Inner Panel Rust Treatment - Decklid

Did you have to neutralize the citric acid left over on the panel? I used a muratic acid bath on some parts a few years ago, and they required a quick dip in water mixed with baking soda to neutralize the acid leftover on the metal.

How to scuff and paint metal inside cowl?

So on my 71 duster I have the heater box off, and am taking the vent box off the driver's side to clean up and add new seals/foam etc. My cowl is in really good shape, just some degradation of the paint on the inside trough, and the beginnings of some very light surface rust. I'd like to get in...

Current 'best' aftermarket non ac heater core?

Thanks for the link. My core definitely had 1/2" and 5/8" tube size. I may need to purchase a new set of heater hoses soon myself

Current 'best' aftermarket non ac heater core?

The one I got looked like the first one you posted. The tubes were generally in the right area but the center to center between the tubes was about 1" wider than the original, the bends in the small tube were made differently than the original too. Even after he got the tubes in the right spots...

Current 'best' aftermarket non ac heater core?

I got the spectra heater core just to see how it fit. The mounting flange didn't line up, and the tubes were too far apart from each other, and the smaller tube had 2 sharp 90 degree bends instead of the more gradual bends in the original. You couldn't even get the tubes through the holes in the...

When switching from 18" to 22" radiator, are new cooler lines needed?

I installed the champion. It took a little boring out of the bolt holes on 1 side to get the bolts through to the stock core support the insert locations. No big issue. Sits closer to fan but still have clearance. The bottom oem hose fits well, the upper oem hose is way too short, had to get an...

Current 'best' aftermarket non ac heater core?

Most everything in the car is all original and in such great shape that I am definitely willing to have the original heater core fixed so i have a perfectly fitting good quality piece, but Glen Ray is booked out pretty far. I have local radiator shops.. they charge the same as Glen Ray but I...
