It took a little work, shot some WD40 and tapped it a couple times. Steady and slow and nothing broke. Lets just hope the aftermarket parts last as long as what I took out...probably not.

Someone deleted the clip at some point. The good news is I tapped it a couple time and it started moving. I got it off. Thanks for the link for the manual I always forget about that site.

Ok I need some help on this one, I was following the how to article and everything was going ok until this one step. Maybe the difference is because my car is a 71 and not a 70? I have no snap ring here, but yet I cant get any further with the disassembly. Any ideas?

Ok here is the latest, just put the carb on the car and got it running. One minor problem I found is a vacuum leak, I’m hoping someone with 1406 can send me a picture or tell me what’s missing. I know there would normally be an electric choke here, but what would occupy the other holes?

Well I have cleaned everything and can see and blow air thru it with no problem. Maybe the casting is off. I used a screw driver and worked it back and forth with no difference. At this point i probably should wait and see how it tunes.

Maybe I am looking at this wrong. Instead of one side going in to far, maybe the other side is not turning in far enough?
