Hunted around and ca't seem to find a windshield for a 66 vert, seems gaskets and windshield are no goes, unless you use something else?? but what?

I ran a temp wire from the transmission to starter relay starts only in park now, next trip to parts store for wire and ends

I wrapped in a heat shield as it was close to exhuast

un-plugged from transmission, and starts in any gear.. wire going to transmission is grounded .. now can I just run a new wire from relay direct to trans?

Checked reply is not ground at that termial but wiring going to it is

Yes it's grounded and when unplugged no start in any gear
