    Hypothetical 318 Builds

This is a great thread. Thanks for starting it. I’m not as educated as some of you when the numbers start flying around these posts but it seems like I could ask you guys a couple questions. I will eventually be (re)building a 318 for a 54 Plymouth Plaza Suburban I have. Nothing special but I...

[WANTED] All locks with keys for a 1965 Barracuda

I bought this set from a guy up in Canada. I am not a purist and this will never be a concourse show car, but what do you think? Do they look right? close enough? completely wrong?

[WANTED] All locks with keys for a 1965 Barracuda

For this car, I need to either re-key all existing locks (ign/doors/trunk) or get new locks with keys. Yes I prefer the old style keys with matching pentastar ign/doors key and round trunk key. I found a couple guys on eBay with full sets of locks. I already bought NOS key blanks for all my...

[WANTED] All locks with keys for a 1965 Barracuda

Someone stole a bunch of stuff from our house including spare keys to all the cars. I am replacing locks on almost all of them but I am having trouble finding correct locks with correct keys for the 65 Barracuda. I am hoping someone has some in good shape. I am hoping the ignition and doors are...

    Replacement axles?

Thanks. Everything is installed again. Waiting to finish blasting the wheels and repaint them then I’ll get new tires and be on the road again.

    Replacement axles?

My friend called me last night saying he cleaned them up and pressed on Timken bearings and collars. There was still plenty of tension on the bearing that it should not slip or spin at all. I will go pick them up today and hopefully get them installed within the next few days. I received the...

That would be outstanding. It doesn't have to be pretty, just has to be straight

[Found!] One 14x4.5 SBP steel wheel

Not sure shipping from NC to CA will make it worth it, but how much are you asking for it?

    [FOR SALE] PARKING BRAKE HANDLE

does it match what came original in the 65 Barracuda? Mine is cracked in half.

    Replacement axles?

Thank you guys for chiming in with ideas and advice. I will let you know how it goes once I get it back together.
  18. Bob Wilkie

    Replacement axles?

I didn't want to hit it too much with emery cloth for fear of making it too much smaller and having the bearing spin. I ordered the Timken bearings and seals and FelPro gaskets.
  19. Bob Wilkie

    Replacement axles?

Everything but three of four flange gaskets was in place upon disassembly and otherwise matched the image in the service manual. I just spoke to a friend who rebuilds rear axles and transmissions. He is ordering Timken bearings and seals (also made in China but better than Duralast) and I...
  20. Bob Wilkie

    Replacement axles?

yep, I had a choice of one packable (part SET7) or one sealed (part RWF34R)
  21. Bob Wilkie

    Replacement axles?

the bearings that came off it and the ones I bought from the parts store are the sealed type, not the type you pack.
  22. Bob Wilkie

    Replacement axles?

I need advice from the experienced early A body folks... I pulled the axles on my recently acquired 65 Barracuda slant six car to replace the bearings. It's a "driver" meant to be fun to putz around in from time to time. I have several other car projects taking the majority of my time and money...

    Will 70 Dart V8 K-member fit 65 Barracud?

I'll have to look again, but I don't remember the K-member under the slant six looking as beefy as the one in your photo. Yours seems more boxed in where I was thinking mine was more angled steel with less enclosed "boxy" areas.
  28. Bob Wilkie

    Will 70 Dart V8 K-member fit 65 Barracud?

You are correct, I didn't think to break it down when I wrote the original post. I bought the entire aftermarket tubular IFS from Control Freaks with coil overs and new brakes.
  29. Bob Wilkie

    Will 70 Dart V8 K-member fit 65 Barracud?

That’s good news. I just assumed I’d need a stronger Kmember for the V8. So it’s just a bolt in if I have the 273 mounts?
  30. Bob Wilkie

    Will 70 Dart V8 K-member fit 65 Barracud?

Removing SB V8 K-member from 70 Dart to install independent front suspension. Have an extra 318 I’d like to swap into my 65 Barracuda S/6 car if the K-member will bolt in. Has anyone here done it already?
