8 3/4 Rear End - General Questions, Seek all and any help, 1st restore!

Hold the ring gear tightly and move the yoke one way then the other. If there is any movement more than a 1/8" before the ring gear tries to move then it may need attention. If as you say, it spins smoothly and you find no excessive movement between forward and reverse, just clean it as...

    For B-Bodies Only

I'm over on B bodies and also here. 90% of my cars are B bodies, 2 A bodies and 1 C body. Someone mentioned that they don't feel comfortable on B bodies, as I don't feel real comfortable here. I think my reasoning is that I don't have as much knowledge of A bodies as I do of B bodies, plus I'm...

    engine high on driver side

They don't reproduce the 340 mount that I'm aware. You have a mismatch of parts. 67 A body, 73 K member. What motor mounts are you using? We just worked with a friend that has 318 mounts on a 71 E body with a 340. It was low on the passenger side. We used body shims between the mount and the...

    engine high on driver side

340 mount is different than a 318 / 360. You either need to shim the low side or get the correct mount.

What makes Mopar owners have such a bond?

My first new car was a Mopar. Most everyone else were GM with an occasional Ford. I was ridiculed by so called friends and challenged a lot in the beginning, then when I found ways to beat them with my in there opinion POS, they sort of shied away and didn't like me around. All that did was make...

68 dart front sway bar cage has tow rings?

I have never seen that. On the other hand it's a neat idea if you trailer a car to shows. I would like to see how they actually look on the car. If you chose not to use them, I'll pay shipping and I will play with them.

    Air Grabber Air Cleaner

451 stroker and six pack. Notched for the 2 speed wiper motor. I have no idea if A/C compressor will clear. You might try asking someone at Classic Auto Air. If I had changed to a 3 speed wiper motor I wouldn't have had to notch the drivers rear.

68 dart front sway bar cage has tow rings?

I have seen brackets on the rear of some B bodies before, but never anything on the front.

    What broke in my suspension?

Your lower control arm bushings is shot. They're not the easiest thing to replace but that rubber doesn't last forever.

Pistol out and round ball in?

Slide a .10-.15 feeler gauge in beside the handle to release the detent ball and slide out. May need some penetrating oil to help free it up. It's not as easy as explained.

    Mecum auction

Tim Welborn has been restructuring his collection for the last few years and getting some other brands of muscle cars to keep his Museum fresh and to bring in more visitors. He rotates cars in and out on almost a monthly basis so visitors don't see the same thing all the time. And yes Mecum is...

    the "B" guys have it......

I must admit I spend most of my time on the FBBO site. I'm Mopar all the way, but there is not a small block in the building. I do have a 273, and 3 340's that I acquired with a deal. One of the 340's is in a 69 Dart that resides elsewhere. This is why most of my time is on FBBO.

    the "B" guys have it......

They are empty, but get used when I sell parts. Also I'm a little messy except for my cars, and some of them are dusty.

Who says A bodies can't have big engines as well as other smaller cars?

    Stewart-Warner 150-350 Trans Temp Gauge

If you know the resistance range of the gauge you have, finding a compatible sending unit should be straightforward.

I wonder how a water temperature sending unit would work with it?

383 rebuild - kinda whimpy on the dyno?

A/F 14 @ 3500 is fine, but it seems to be leaning out. It needs a little more fuel throughout the range 14.5 but less than 15 at your max rpm. I agree with the heads are killing it. A little port work is in order.

Any options other than Milodon for a 5.7

My 66 Satellite 6.1 is using a Charlie's oil pan. I know it's a B body, but the quality I thought was unsurpassed. Only suprise was it's 8 quarts with the small filter.

    Bad Gas

Even if you are able to clean and coat the tank you're going to need a new sending unit.

    New to FABO

68 GTS, I have the matching block, but the transmission wasn't the one it was born with. It's now a 451 stroker with a 6 pack, iron ductile adjustable rockets and a few other goodies. It's now just a tire shredder but handles great with the 1.25 inch front sway bar and added rear sway bar and 4...

    New to FABO

I've been on FBBO for a while. I see a lot of familiar names here. I own mostly B bodies with some A bodies mixed in. I thought as I've been looking around here that I should join here for more access to posts and information. I have a 68 Dart GTS, not exactly stock and 68 Dart LO23 recreation...
