    Header interference issue

I have a 1973 360 with Trick Flow 190 power port heads going in a 1969 Barracuda. I found some Hooker competition headers used but they won't fully bolt flush to the driver's side head because the #1 tube is against the head. I can either grind the head (don't want to do this), put a big dent...

    body panel help

In my '69 Barracuda vert I am replacing both frame rails. In between the frame rail and the rear valence there appears to be a panel of some kind that is mostly rusted out and I'll need to replace. Not sure what it is called. Looks like the rear of the frame rail is welded to it. Can someone...

    Alternator interference issue.

I bought a Chrysler small block serpentine conversion with bracketing for a GM 1 wire alternator from CVF. I bought the alternator from summit racing. It is a 12 SI. Anyway, the alternator does not clear the head. The bearing extends about 1/4" too far back preventing the alternator to swing...

Wow! Thank you so much. Will order the Edelbrock 7276 gaskets! Thanks, Brian

    360 intake fit problem??

I am building a 408 stroker and have a 1973 360 block with Trick flow 190 heads and a trick flow track heat intake. It seems like the intake is too far from the heads. When I tighten it down, it appears to bend or angle the intake slightly to get it to bolt up tight. I'm guessing it would...

    408 stroker oil pump

In part, yes, but my understanding is that the part circled above should not have a gap between the mounting neck and the block, but should be flush as well.

    408 stroker oil pump

OK. I removed the washer from the main bolt and when the oil pump is flush with the main cap where it is bolted, the part that goes down into the cap where the oil pump drive is does not come in flush contact. It is hard to explain so I hope the picture helps. It doesn't need to be ground as...

    408 stroker oil pump

I was wondering what I need for an oil pump for my 408 stroker. The HV one I have will not clear the main stud bolts. Wondering what I am looking for. Also, the pickup tube attaches to one of the main bolts. Do I need a stud kit for that, or can it be placed under the bolt (between the bolt...

    408 stroker rod bolt interference?

Sounds good. Now my biggest concern will be cleaning it properly without taking it back to the machine shop. I'll take time to cover everything close to the area I am working and vacuum and/or wash it when done.

Thats the bottom of the bore. No issues with the pan rail.

    408 stroker rod bolt interference?

Sounds good. I'll be taking it apart and make take the dremel to it. Any idea how much clearance is good? I was thinking more than .10. I don't want to find out the hard way...

    408 stroker rod bolt interference?

I am in the process of assembling my 1973 LA 360 block to make it a 408 stroker. I have a Molner forged rotating assy with H beam rods. I noticed after putting in the first two piston assys that the clearance between the rod bolt head and the block is very tight. About .040 on the first one...

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

Slightly changes the compression to static of 10.83:1, dynamic of 8.105:1

Yes. I just checked the order acknowledgement and it is a 4.060.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

I called Cometic and they are making me .023" gaskets. They said this the thinnest they could make. That will put my quench at .043. Should have the gaskets in about 2 weeks.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

If I figured it right, my calculated static compression ration is 10.91:1, dynamic compression ratio is 8.164:1. Hopefully this will help prevent detonation.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

At the time I assumed I’d be using a Magnum block but came across a 1973 360 block that was already machined (took it to a machine shop to have thoroughly checked). I already had the rockers (ordered with the TF heads) so I decided to go with the LA block. I do have the oil through lifters...

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

I have the S72026K set for pushrod oiling. That's why I was talking about magnum head gaskets, but it sounds like some are running both through the pushrods and the block without any issues.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

Doing the calcs, that puts static compression at 10.9:1 with .020 head gaskets. Not sure how to figure dynamic. I don't know to determine intake valve closing point which the dynamic compression calculator wants. There is a 110 deg lobe separation if that helps. 6.123" rods.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

Thanks for the input. Since I am running the Harland Sharp rockers, I have to have push rod oiling. I wasn't planning on rotating the cam bearings if I don't have to, but input is good. Since I have .02 to the deck, I think I will shoot for .020 head gaskets to get my quench to about .040.

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

With the trick flow heads, they require the Harland Sharp Heavy-Duty Roller Rockers S72026K. I was trying to determine if simply blocking the holes is enough. Some have said so but I wanted another opinion. The cam I am running is 286/294 duration (236/242 @ .050), with .544/541 lift, but...

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

I have the pushrod measuring tool, so that's not a problem. When i looked at different ways to oil the valvetrain the options were to put threads and a plug in the oil opening from the block to the heads or use a later model head gaskets in addition to using oil through lifters and hollow...

    408 stroker head gasket recommendation

I also wanted to add that the block is an LA block that I wanted to change the oiling to go through the pushrods. I have hollow pushrods and Trick flow hydraulic roller lifters TFS-21400010. I believe I can just order head gaskets for a post 1992 magnum that will work to block the oil holes in...
