    Cam bearing a lifter question..

The gear on cam that moves distributor might have made that upon removal now that you mention it.

    Cam bearing a lifter question..

I’m in process of putting engine together. Not a rebuild, I just wiped cam bearings with a dry towel. I realize they’re coated but can I get anyone opinion if they’re fine or not. I don’t feel anything of concern and while I don’t think I nicked anything, the cam did tilt a tiny bit upon removal...

    Can anyone identify this cam?

Sorry, forgot to ask a pertinent question. The hydraulic flat tappets that were in look to be in great condition. It is from the 80’s but engine didn’t really run much throughout the years. Everything inside looks in great shape. Should I reuse it? Reason I removed everything was to visually...

    Can anyone identify this cam?

Understood, would you say the 340 victor intake and 850 carb was a bit overkill? Since this cam is 2000-4500rpm what stall converter you recommend?

    Can anyone identify this cam?

Whatever cam from factory 68’ 340. I’ve read 10:5:1 was stock then I’ve read how that was used as a scale and could not be indicative on all models prior to 1971+. As for head gasket was looking to just go with stock. Had the long tubes but getting rid of them for stock 340 and magnum manifold...

    Can anyone identify this cam?

Thank you guys so much! This community is great! The last I remember(15 years ago) the car was running terribly. Had this cam along with a 340 victor jr intake and 850 db carb. Don’t know what converter was in it but everything seemed off. About 10 years ago, I put a edelbrock performer rpm...

    Can anyone identify this cam?

Came off a 340 from a 68’ barricuda. I’m pretty sure it’s not stock. Was supposedly installed in the 80’s.

    2951123 manifold on duster?

I looked up and I believe it’s for a 68-69 dart 318. However I have a 340 from a 68’ going Into a stock 71’ 340 duster. Are the 318 manifold less restrictive than a 340 manifold? Would it interfere? I do believe it does have power steering. Helping project for my brother.

    Can anyone help identify transmission?

When looking up A999 transmission i get a majority search of jeep transmission. Obviously this is for a rear wheel drive and not 4wd. When looking for rebuild, searches come from torqueflight 6, A908/A998/A999 rebuild kit. Considering the A999 is a 5 disc as opposed to its predecessors, can you...

    Can anyone help identify transmission?

Wow, that’s more than I could ask. Thank you. I’m guessing it’s just the same as a 904 except it has a lock up?

    340 cam, converter

Thank you for response. I’ve been researching and read about the lunati voodoo 60402 with comp 901 springs. I’ve also read not a good cam if you plan on running brakes with a booster. Not much info about aftermarket heads considering trickflow are a bit better than the edelbrock and don’t really...

    Can anyone help identify transmission?

I believe it’s a 904? I have the serial number by shift selector if it helps but can’t identify numbers

Need New Headers for my ride.

Any chance you could post pics of clearance from driver side and where downpipes Connect by flange? Going through what you went through. Had the Hedman long tubes and debating whether these shorties, Doug’s or factory manifolds. Did you use shims for motor mounts? Think it should clear stock 71...

    340 cam, converter

Def a street vehicle with a great improvement on the powerband. Was reading and looking at 2200-2500 powerband. Was quoted $700 for a refresh on X heads. Was debating if I’m going to end up paying that much to just get aftermarket, but not sure if overkill and what brands work well with 340’s...

    340 cam, converter

Car is pretty much a Frankenstein. Originally 71 318 duster. Was my brother’s since late 70’s and swapped in a 340 from a 68 barracuda. Rear from a 73, A body(3:55 posi). I believe it has a 904 3spd transmission. A friend of his back in the day out a high lift cam 850 carb which made no sense...
