    727 slip yoke on 7 1/4 driveshaft

Hello, I'm in the midst of my 340 swap into my 1974 Dodge Dart, trying to reuse as much as possible since I don't have much money so I'm keeping the 7 1/4 rear end for now and I'm trying to reuse the driveshaft, I've ordered a new slip yoke that mates to the trans but I'm concerned it won't mate...

    Streetspark/DC ignition?

It's possible that it uses a ford cap but I read on an old old forum that they use the cap and rotor off the gm 265 (one guy said specifically 56), doing some lookups on rockauto and ebay I found they looked pretty similar to what's on it. The ebay link I found that tune up kit on is expired so...

    Streetspark/DC ignition?

Did some research and part comparisons and it looks like it uses a GM cap and rotor and ford innards.

I thought that too but it's only got one coil lead on the cap

    Streetspark/DC ignition?

Went to a swap meet the other day and someone was selling a dual point from the brand DC ignition, apparently a former part of Mr. Gasket, for a small block. Never heard of this but I picked it up for a future old style hotrod or street machine project, can't find a lot about these online. If...

    74 Dart Roll pin

So, like an idiot, I'm pretty sure I lost the roll pin that connects the steering box and the shaft. Thought I had put it in a magnetic tray with all the other little pieces so I wouldn't lose it but I guess not. Anyone know the size or part number for a replacement?

    Trans linkage problem

Found a guy in NC with what looks like a winner, says it's 67-70 will that work or does it need to be a later one?

    Trans linkage problem

Thank you for the diagram, that helps! If it's just an issue of the 904 one being too long can I just cut it or is it an entirely different set of brackets?

    Trans linkage problem

Z bar is attached to the column shifter, yes Also thanks for telling me the shift rod is backwards.

    Trans linkage problem

I don't think the Z bar is messed up, though it could be, I haven't touched it since I disconnected the linkage from the 904. Also I do have the gear selector on the bottom lever, and I believe even if I flipped it around I think it would still be too long. Tried the 904 selector but it doesn't...

    Trans linkage problem

Been working on my Slant six to 340 swap for my 74 dart and I've hit a roadblock, the linkage arm that connects the shifter on the transmission to the column shift linkage is too long, also looks like the same column shift linkage is hitting the transmission and bending upwards, old trans was a...

    Rear end mounting question

I found a decent looking 8 1/4 rear from a '92 Jeep XJ and I'm wondering if it will fit in my '74 dodge dart or what modifications I need to make to it fit. Car currently has a 7 1/4 since it's a slant car and I'm swapping a mildish 340 in it so I wanted to change the rear end. Specs on the 8...

340 Water pump and alternator belt size

Thought it would come to that. Thanks.

340 Water pump and alternator belt size

For mine the waterpump uses the first pulley on the crank and the alternator uses the second and third. From what I've seen and guesstimated the alternator goes to the AC around to the crankshaft with two belts and the waterpump and ps use the same belt.

340 Water pump and alternator belt size

I've been building a 72 340 and I'm about to put it on a run stand but I need to get belts for the alternator and waterpump pulley(I'm not running AC or ps until I get it into the car), I've played with some belt sizes but so far I haven't found the correct size. I just got back from napa with...
