    Will these headers fit?

Cool! But the Autozone sales never applies to the parts I'm looking for. They pull a bait and switch.

    Will these headers fit?

I have the spool type motor mounts, but I don't know what difference that makes. Maybe that's the mystery? I don't want to make a $1000 mistake.

    Will these headers fit?

No transverse torsion bars in this car, it's the same style of setup like the older 67-72 A bodys

    Will these headers fit?

Do you know if there are differences from 72 to 73? The tech support guy from pertronics told me it will work from 67 to 72, but not not 73 and up and they don't know why. Kind of weird.

    Will these headers fit?

I'm looking to buy new Doug's headers part# D453 for the new engine that I put together for my 73 Dart. I was about to order them, but I checked the application list and it says "no" for column shift auto transmission. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? Will they not fit? Is that shift...

He just runs right over old farm tractor

For these who don't know, tractors and other types of construction vehicles driving on a two lane divided road is more common than many may think and are legal in specific areas depending on specific uses. Usually the rule is that they must have the orange reflective triangle when on the road...

Let’s see a picture of your car!!

Everything everyone posted here is freaking cool! Here is my very slow but now really good running 73 Dart. My time is on the right.

    70 Maverick came home

In general the maverick to me has a sporty but yet handsome style when you put the right wheel and combo on it.

He just runs right over old farm tractor

I'm not gonna lie, I feel so sorry for the farmer guy on the tractor. He probably has taken this route 1000's of times with his tractor and unfortunately this was the last due to a trucker not paying attention. I do feel emotional about this, sorry if I do. I too was rear ended by a semi truck...

    Doug's D453-ss

That's it! I'm buying a set of Doug's headers now. They look so much better in quality in the photos. I've messed with crappy headers more than I want to. I had enough of the rust, terrible bolt clearance, warped flanges out of the box and crappy welds that sometimes need repair.

Just a stupid question. Trust me, this kind of thing happens more often than you think.

    Radiator overflow tank

Here is my cheap overflow bottle, needed it for the drag strip. It's a pepsi bottle that I vented the cap on, never had issues and it passes tech lol.

I'm sorry Dan, I never meant to hijack your thread. I just fell for the trap, I should have just sat back and let things run their course. Again, sorry about all this.

Did I claim that a car with way more torque will be faster than a car of the same weight with less torque and way more hp? NO! I did not. It seems to me that you are focusing on peak number or you think that I am, IDK. Maybe you don't understand that I get it and you just keep telling me I'm...

If that is his point, the same mathematical principle still applies here. If a hypothetical engine makes 400 lb-ft of torque and 457 HP at 6000 rpm and 370 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm. What HP is it making at 7000 RPM? It's 493 HP. The torque number and RPM still dictates the Horsepower amount...

    Another 318 set up

To make more horsepower, you need more torque at whatever RPM range you want the power at. Engineers and engine builders who are smarter than us try to get more HORSEPOWER by getting more TORQUE in the right place in the power curve. What people are really getting mixed up is where in the RPM...

    Headers

That's a mistake I have made made multiple times. My Dart will definitely have coated headers when I'm done with the engine. (Might order headers soon)

    Another 318 set up

Oh sorry, I've been having a rough day yesterday. I was not at full mental capacity. So... Yes you need horsepower, but you cannot make horsepower at whatever rpm without torque. Horsepower = Torque in lb-ft multiplied by RPM then divided by 5252. Those 1/4 mile calculators can be in the...

Dude, 273 and I chatted about it here, he made some good points that I quoted, so go read that, because I'm not in the mood now from dealing with my grandmother's basement flooding with sewer water which is why my responses are meh. I'm tired, have goodnight.

    Another 318 set up

Well, yes hp is the byproduct of torque, that is why torque is important, can't have hp without it. That is is what I meant, but my explanation may be a bit complex and confusing. It kinda is, because it's how much work can be done in whatever time it takes. (My head may have been off topic...

    Another 318 set up

Now that's supporting my argument a bit, but that 1050 lbs-ft of torque at 2000 rpm or so is the reason why you can tow that heavy load without having to use some crazy low gears. Torque is what you need to move the load, horsepower is what gets you there quickly most of the time. So when other...

    Another 318 set up

It depends on the type of performance and the level you desire. Both horsepower and torque need to be taken into consideration along with the power curve. Remember, a lot of us have street cars with 3 speed slush-o-matics and a highway rear gear, so an high rpm race engine is not fit for that...

I knew that would get your attention. Do you want to explain to the class how to figure out how much Horsepower an engine makes? Because it seems that you believe and preach that engine torque is not that important. Explain in full detail how making making horsepower is more important than...
