    Instrument cluster test

I am looking to test all of my gauges before I reinstall my instrument cluster. I have a 1966 Barracuda Formula S. I found and fixed some wiring issues and replaced the tachometer. Before I put the cluster back in I would like to make sure everything is working properly including the lights...

I will be getting back to it Wednesday or so, I will update then. Thank you. As far as the weld goes, I have no idea.

Could anyone enlighten me as to how to get the shifter arm out of my Hurst shifter? I removed the locknut and bolt but the arm will not come out. Is there some kind of clip that needs to be pulled back like on an electrical connector or something?

Project 24, the tube was epoxied in. I don't think it was a factory fix.

    273 Commando PCV valve

I have had my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 273 Commando motor rebuilt. I need to replace the PCV valve and this is the only one I can find. It's at Classic Industries and they are asking $140! It's a PCV valve for gods sake. The valve actually unscrews from the housing and comes out to be...

The first picture is the original motor out of my 66. I was getting oil in the coolant. Someone tried to sleeve that oil port for whatever reason I don't know. I can only imagine it was because of the oil getting in the coolant. The second picture is the 273 block I bought out of someone's 67. I...

Brought my new block to the machine shop yesterday. This is what it should look like without the sleeve. This one needs some work but no cracks and it came out of a 1967 Barracuda.

Thank you. It's actually only going to cost me a few hundred and I get a hole bunch of extra parts.

Hey everyone, just wanted to update you on the block. In the picture is where the oil filter housing mount goes. Someone drilled out the hole and epoxied a sleeve in it. That is where the oil in the coolant is coming from. I found a good 273 block that I am going to pick up tomorrow. Thanks for...

I recently removed my 273 Commando engine out of my 1966 Barracuda. I wanted to have it checked out and rebuilt. It was getting a small amount of oil in the coolant but no coolant in the oil. Other than that it ran great. The machine shop I sent it to found a small crack in the block. I have...

    Removing my 273 engine

I just got some bad news from the machine shop today. My block has a crack in it. Does anyone know if a 360 would fit in my 1966 Barracuda?

Thanks, I'm getting it painted next summer. I'm keeping the color but maybe changing the color of the stripes.

    Removing my 273 engine

I'm already contemplating with or without the transmission on the install. That will be March or April so I have some time. I'm more worried about the left side of the engine. You have that weird exhaust manifold, the starter, the shift linkage, the z-bar for the clutch and the clutch fork to...

Thanks everyone! It's out and at the machine shop. It wasn't all that bad getting it out the top.

I am sending it out to a local machine shop and rebuilding it along with the transmission.

    Removing my 273 engine

Wow, never thought about that. I have seen it done (on a lift) on that show Graveyard Cars. However, I have a pretty small 1 car garage to work in and I don't think I will have enough room to do that. Ill look into it this week. Also, I have a plug for the transmission tail shaft. Thank you.

    Removing my 273 engine

Thank you guys for all of the advice. I cannot remove it from below because I can't get the car high enough to do so. I have a load leveler and I have removed the distributor, radiator and everything including the water pump. I had to go out and purchase a 2 ton engine hoist because my 1 ton...

    Removing my 273 engine

I'm pulling the motor and transmission out of my 1966 Barracuda. It's a 273 with a 4 speed manual transmission. I am going to pull both at the same time, however, it looks as if the pressure plate will not clear the Centrelink. Has anyone had this problem or know if it will make it by the...

    Introduction

Hey everyone, my name is Tim. My kids have grown and I figured its time to purchase a toy for myself before I am too old to enjoy it. Ever since my older brother had one when I was a kid, I have always loved the 66 Barracuda. I found this one July of this year and purchased it. It needs some...
