Thanks George, Fired the beast on Memorial Day! Finally figured out my header problems. Got a junkyard z-bar and modified the inboard arm moving it about 1/2 inch inward. That paired with a Denso mini from Mancini provided enough clearance and the whole thing went back together smoothly...

Agreed, dash caps can be a great alternative. Be careful to properly clean the original surface that the cap will adhere to during installation. Also, try to avoid continued exposure to sunlight after installation. The caps are plastic and tend to separate from the original surface if left in...
