It's not worth as much as a A body housing in my opinion. Most of the E body's came with an 8 3/4 so they seem to be more of them around. I often see them for sale. As far as what it's worth it depends on the demand in you're area. I do think you did good on you're purchase though

The problem is the console itself it mounts to the shifter and you find a way to relocate it moves the shift indicator that's mounted on the shifter.

Here you go That's in park That's in drive. I used an E body handle and it machined the end to match the Promatic handle. I like the placement a lot better but it hits the back of the console and it won't go into 1st, I my have to do some cutting :rolleyes:

I modified a pistol grip handle to fit on a Promatic 2 shifter, but I'm having trouble putting it back together. The main pin (the one that fits in the slot ) won't go in far enough to allow the snap ring to go on. It's sticking out and won't slide in all the way in! Tried tapping and rotating...

It's a 904 transmission, and all these came out a 904. As far as the spines the transmission is out of later model 73 Duster so I think they'll fit.

This is in a an early A, the 727 doesn't fit without modification so I'm using a 904. And guys this is not a race car and I'm thinking a stock converter will suit my needs just fine, I'm just wanted to find a way to determine the stall.

Neither of them have external weights other than the thin strips in the photos. The high stall that was with the 340 (73 externally balanced) go figure. One of them I have no knowledge of. The gray one came out of the an old drivetrain I had in the car that drove fine, but I didn't drive it...

There are other extra weights that I can see on it?

I'm the process of swapping out externally balanced 340 for a internally balanced for 408. I have 3 converters the one used on tge 340 seems to have a high stall, and the other two are supposedly stock 318 converters. I know very little about tq's, and there are no significant markings to tell...

So you all know I have an 65 Barracuda, and a 727 won't fit without some modification. I do have 904 out of a 73 318 Duster.

Is this similar to a 360 converter, and will it fit a 904? Please excuse my ignorance with this I dealt with automatics much

Thanks all, that's what I figured, the tech guy I called at B&M didn't seem to know anything and he told me I'd have to use a 360 converter with it! I have 71 LA 360 block by the way.

I have a stock 360 block that I'm bolting to a 904 trans and I'm looking into aftermarket TQ's. From what I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong) all SBM flex plates are the same (unbalanced and the needed balancing is on the converter). B&M has a PN 10239 for this application...

I have 73 cast crank 340 in my car, and have 360 block I'm thinking of using to build a stroker. My question is does the 340 use the same torque converter, or are they balanced differently than the 360?
