    ok then, i have a question ? once you pull the cover off, and on the top of each carrier is a nut with an angle steel piece bolted under it which raps around the carrier on one side.... whats the purpose, i dont recall seeing it in the last dana jeep rear end i put a lockrite in.

    which adjusters ? i installed the axles but had a shop do the ring set and all bearings etc. this cover applies preassure on the each carrier to help eliminate flex and case distortion. Im thinking of adding the axle tube struts as well, and for the price, why not !

    Cass at Dr.Diff had custom HD 8.25 axles made for me, the splines were tight, but tapped right in with a mallet every thing else was a perfect fit, mine too still on the bench.

    they are good looking too.... very HD compared to the stockers, the splines are twice the length of the stock set and are deep splined in to the axle vs. the stock splines are stuck out of a taperd shaft. even the c-clip notch is beefier. all and all Cass has done me right. along with my LPW...

    i just had mine welded on my 8.25, i can get you the weld specs, wire size and gas mix if you want. they are stonger now than they were. My 8.25 is 1970.

    well, relocated my spring perches last night to match the center of the frame, next is relocate springs and install my new rear. i also confirmed my axles are aftermarket as they are 27 spline solid (no taper).

    i am trying to find out if the rear drums and backing plates from my 7 1/4 will fit an 8 3/4 off a 70 - 74 Plymouth Cuda / Challenger. i found a nice set up with no brakes or plates, and read somewhere that some of the 7 1/4 brakes and plates will bolt up to 8 3/4s.... IS THIS TRUE ?
