Thanks for the reply. When i got this car it was completely gutted so i dont even have the original drive shaft to go off of. I just need to try and find one at a local junk yard or on ebay that will work.

I was wondering if anyone would happen to know what length driveshaft i would need for my car. 68 plymouth valiant. 2 door 727 transmission 8 3/4 rear end. The trans is actually out of a mid 70`s 1-ton ambulance van. But i do believe ihas the long tail shaft. I dont have a slip yoke...

The yolk would slide in. There is not one bolted to the end.

I would be able to cut down the driveshaft though.....so I guess that might work anyways....

Maybe I should have posted this, but I originally didn't think it was necessary, i don't have an old driveshaft, thus why I have been looking for one. The engine, trans, and rear end in my car are out of a 1974 dodge 1 ton ambulance van. So my tailshaft is different then a normal 727 car...

i have a couple sets of junk tires waiting around to be burned off.....though its kinda difficult to find cheap low pro 18's to just waste away.....but it will be worth it... i dont really have a local driveline shop in my area....unless i drive for a couple hours... is there no stock ones...

this car has been sitting in my garage for a little over a year and i have finally got time to work on it.... if everything goes well, the car should be up and running by mid summer the motor, trans, and k-frame should be going on within the next week or 2

i was wondering if anyone knew if the B&M z-gate shifter would work in a 68 valiant with a 727 auto from a 1974 dodge van? the car is originally a manual trans with the shifter on the column...i was going to replace the column with an different one from an auto with the shifter on the column...
