    Need a snappy comeback

A few years ago when I was picking up my 71 Duster 340 in Nebraska and putting it up on the trailer, a guy stops by to chat about the car and the first thing he suggests is to put a 440 in it.

cars you junked but maybe should not have

Scrapped a 74 Duster with snake skin vinyl top. Bought it for the 318 to put in my first Duster. Wasn't smart enough at the time to swap the 7.25 rear for the 8.25 in the parts car. Saved several parts off it for a few years but threw them away when I was moving to a small trailer with no room...

more than just a screen name

My first car was a 1974 Plymouth Duster. Too close to having been 72fordltd or worse yet 76buickdelta88. Liked the Ford but it got sold the day before my dad wanted to buy it and luckily the Buick wouldn't go over 60 on the highway. A dealer friend of the family had this red and white Plymouth...

    Anyone own an AMC?

My parents bought a new 1980 Eagle station wagon. Had the am/fm/cb radio. It had a lot of problems hood release lever broke off almost immediately so kept a pair of vise grips in car. It kept flooding and dealership after several weeks found the carb bowl was cracked. Never figured out why it...

    PHOTOS OF YOUR 1st MOPAR

My first (red) and second (tan), both 1974 Gold Dusters. Drove the tan (318) for a year but purchased as a heart donor for the red one (198/225) which I had for 8 years before it met up with a cottonwood tree thanks to the help of a 16 yr old Mustang driver. Sold to a Wyo Tech student in '90 or...

    stompers anybody still have

I liked the foam tires over the skinny hard rubber tires. Had better traction climbing rocks. Unfortunately they did spin on the wheel and had to be glued. Built the Nissan hardbody p/u with 3 wheels at each corner and clay and bb's as ballast to try and get a good hill climber out of it. Still...

Look what was under the carpet

I work for Scantron Corporation as a field service tech. When my truck said Scantron Service Group on it I would run into a kid working the drive thru at a McDonalds that would give me crap because of all the problems Scantron caused him in high school.

    Richard Petty Leaving Dodge!!!

Didn't I hear somewhere that Penske bought Saturn? If true, how soon will he put the Saturn sticker on his cars instead?

    Favorite A-Body

Ever since I got a 74 Duster as my first car I have wanted a 70-71 Duster 340 4 spd. Thing is one of my least favorite colors is yellow but always thought I would like a 340 painted yellow. Got a Curious Yellow 71 Duster 340 4spd project 25 years later.

    Cash For Clunkers

Unfortunately, the extreme environmentalists have gotten the government to force the big older 'safer' vehicles off the roads and put us in much smaller cars. They do hate your muscle cars, SUVs, luxury vehicles and pickups! Not to mention your house, your guns, your farm or ranch. The...

    Cash For Clunkers

What if you messed up a fender or grill on your car or mini van hitting a deer? Can't find the replacement parts at your local pull-apart. Just a thought... Anyone realize that salvage yards are the original recyclers? Since the days of the Model T parts from 'clunkers' have been used to keep...

    what is this car??

That's a 75/76 grille. 73-76 Dusters had the same tail lights. Best to check the vin, my 71 had a 70 front end and a 70 rallye dash when I bought it a couple years ago.

My Duster on Power Block T.V.!!!!!

I taped Trucks over the weekend and just watched it last night. Good looking car! I was just glad Courtney wasn't showing much cleavage so I could concentrate on looking at the car! Congratulations!

    Here they come!

I saw one on the highway a few weeks ago. Not quite as ugly in person as the pictures and concept drawings I have seen, but I don't see the 'retro' styling like the Mustang and Challenger have so well nailed.

    Mopar Collector Article...CAFE

The government keeps talking about capping CO2 emissions to curb global warming. When will the government start attacking the carbonated soft drink industry? They have already gone after the farmer and rancher to institute a emissions tax on cattle and pigs. Not sure if that tax passed or not.

    Rarest A-Body Option?

I read somewhere that the hood mounted tach did not sell well in the US so surplus parts were sent to Mexico and installed on the Bee models at the factory.

    Mopars you should have purchased

1968 Road Runner in 1987 for $2200. Basic stripped down, don't believe there were any options on the car. Needed an engine rebuild and a little rust repair. Would have had to sell my 74 Duster to get the money and didn't want to take the chance the roadrunner would be gone then be without either...

74 Gold Duster With Snakeskin Top-Anybody Else Have One?

Bought a parts car several years ago that had the snake skin vinyl top. I didn't like it,though. It eventually went to the scrap yard.

    Mopar Vs Gm Vs Ford

For me it goes back to the first car I owned at 16, a 74 Gold Duster. My parents weren't really brand loyal but I remember when they were shopping around for my car. It could have been a 72 LTD or a 197? Delta 88 but a car dealer friend had a Duster with "a little 6 cyl" on the lot that he...

Are some people really this stupid?

Man, at first glance that looked like my first car! Had to look at it real close to realize it wasn't. I have regretted selling it from day 1, 17 years ago, and have a little hope that it is still out there on the road or at the track. To see that it could have ended up in this idiot's hands was...
