More flexible . Its used for packing dishes when moving but it shows up sometimes in shipping things - I just don't remember what. Before DMT, before Schumacher, some gaskets like that were pretty impossible to find precut and ready to go. You what its similar to? The foam gasket behind the...

Stopped by the garage this morning to do some investigation. Looks to me like the damage is because the rubber connection isn't strong enough. The oil and ATF may not have helped but the interior is dry (not gooey). Gooey and slimy are technical terms - yes? In this floppy disk camara...

H'm. They have polyurethane conformal coatings... I've been looking at a 2 part polyureythane from Mcmaster ($155) or Permatex 82099 spray (mail order from 'zon or zorro, not stocked locally)

Ideally. Yes!!!! The engine I got the drain plug sealed, but still have some leaking further back when running - possibly the back of the valve covers but probably the rear main seal (yea - practically new engine) grrr. The transmission fluid I can't figure where its mostly coming from. A...

Feel like I'm wasting a ton of time. I'm going to look at the failed mount more closely to see if my theory that oil and ATF is damaging the rubber is likely on right track. Permatex makes a spray sealer (RTV ?) that maybe would be a decent oil resistant coating.

All I wanted was transmission mount that didn't fail in 3 years. Figured polyu was more oil resistant than rubber. Now looking for some sort of oil resistant coating for the rubber mount. Found some expensive products in McMaster. One is a PVC coating and another is a 2 part Poly urethane.

I thought this polyurethane mount was going to work out, but nooooooo Even after removing the "preload" plate from the top, it sits too high after weight is on it and the bolts are tightened. I bolted the torque strap down so its very pre-loaded. It works but I'm not happy with it.

Always a job that I don't look forward to. Here's the mounting. Decided to work torque strap, exhaust, then bottom to top as much as possible to keep the weight on it.

Beautiful car. A guy used to show up to the Philly region autocrosses with a yellow convertible -might have been a '76 but I think a '78. All stock and couldn't figure out why his times were always longer than mine. A couple years into this he tells me that he went to my website and saw what...
