Mine is having the same issue and now that I've worked on the carb it seems my Accel coil is causing this fail. My 383 truck had the same issue when the coil killed over. The Accels I've had all failed quickly. Black factory Mopar ones do perfect.

I've got a 340 Torker 2 on my mild 318 and it SUCKS on the street. Will be going to a new intake once my other odds and ends are fixed. It has no balls under 3000rpm and my engine will only turn about 5400rpm before I see the valve coming through the hood.

I did the gas cap trick and it worked like a charm. I believe I'm going to go to a vented cap. I don't like the idea of the tank vent that comes out by my headers.

Mine too has a Eddie carb and intake but with electric fuel pump and dies at stop signs and lights once warm. Up until then it runs great, runs good at anything above idle. Last night it was dying even idled up high.
