Has anyone adapted LEDs for dash bulbs?

I did mine in my 1966 'Cuda, the difference is very noticeable. click the link below to see swap out. http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/DashLights.htm

    Under hood Wiring upgrade

Well I spent the winter wiring a fuse and relay box from a 1999 Caravan for my Cuda and I must say as much of a pain it was I'm very happy with the associated benefits. My motivation was to repair and replace the cracked wiring while upgrading the alternator/ charging system. I moved the VR...

    Bulkhead Wire Fix

Over time the solder may vibrate loose and cause issues, but the intent is to make a decent temp repair that will get you through until you can purchase new terminals to refurbish all the connectors in the bulkhead.

    Bulkhead Wire Fix

OK, first off. I know you can purchase new terminals to make repairs to a bulkhead connector, but what if its 10:00 PM, you're working on the car and a wire breaks off. They can be repaired if you have the tools, some patience and some tough fingers. These terminals have 50 years of...

    Starter Relay Upgrade

A lot of great, informative responses. Thank you all. I already swapped in the Magnum mini starter in the spring so I shouldn't have any issues with the relay swap.

Very Good info on the relays. Thanks!

    Starter Relay Upgrade

Thanks, Bill. I had drawn a schematic before posting that is exactly as you described. Two questions. 1) should I fuse the battery #30 side of the relay or the solenoid #87 side of the relay or does it matter? 2) what amperage fuse?

    Starter Relay Upgrade

I agree with the look of the Mopar relay having that "Native" look to it, and it is convenient to kick the motor over with, but for a timing light or work light I just use the battery terminals. Since its not a restoration and the coil/ignition box is already on the inner fender having it...

    Starter Relay Upgrade

I've done the MAD ammeter bypass and upgraded to a squareback alt. Next for me is the headlight relays. I already have relays for the EFI and fuel pump and I'll probably switch the horn to a "bosch" type relay and clean up the firewall some. My fuse/relay box has extra relays so I can power much...

Will LED Dash Lights cure this?

I added LED dash lights and I'm very happy. I also cleaned all the circuit boards and grounds. Click the link to my write up with photos on what I did. http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/DashLights.htm

Soda Blasting Electrical Parts-Fuse Block, etc.

Thanks for this link. I just fabed up one of these and son-of-a-gun if I don't have a new tool for cleaning up parts!

    Fusible Links

Best thing to do is get a manual or wiring diagram and start there. It will tell you where the fusible links are and you can trace the wires with the schematic. there is a thread here http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=132309 There are manuals you can download. The truth...

    Fusible Links

I went ahead and followed the MAD article exactly and used two new fusible links for now. I can upgrade my alternator for now and I'll worry about the other stuff next year. Thanks for all the replies.

    Fusible Links

BINGO! YES! that is exactly what i've had in mind. Now if i could match the correctly amped "fuse" the the old link i'm in business. If the alternator puts out 65 amps would a 45 or 50 amp fuse be a safe bet?

    Fusible Links

This is a great article and its what I've been following for my upgrade. It references the 12 and 14 gauge fusible links with no reference to replace them with a fuse. I'm looking at mounting a power distribution panel with fuses and relays somewhere under the hood and figured it would be...

    Fusible Links

I'm planning a few wiring upgrades, the Ammeter bypass, Squareback alt upgrade, bulkhead connector pass through/cleaning and possibly relays for the headlights. I have all the wiring upgrades mapped out on a schematic go by. My questions is if I were to replace the fusible link at the...

    Mopar electronic distributor

I came here to find some info about our Distributors, got some really good info and ideas too. I just finished installing a GM TBI with the 8 pin module and ECU with a modified Mopar dizzy in my 66 'Cuda. Thanks to all who helped the OP and many others in this thread. To those who are Pure...

    Third Tail Light

I used a third brake light from a Saab 900 in my 66 'Cuda. Works Great! Heres the install tutorial from one of my friends from above the border on his Early Cuda. http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/thirdlight.htm

    Electronic Ignition

Well, you just saw one difference, price! The same parts for an extra $60+. I remember about 8 years ago or so, many people in my club did not like Jims, I don't know the specifics or the reasons, and I have never bought anything from them so I have no personal experiences.

Two many power wires going to fuse box! Is there a better way?

Thats some good advice right there. Not a bad idea if your running a better sound system with an amp too.

    Ballast resistor

It depends on how many pins your ECU has. I upgraded to electronic with a 5 pin ECU and use a dual ballast resistor. Someone here can fact check me but you can use a single ballast if your ECU is a 4 pin. Here is the wiring diagram I used to wire my car...

    Headlight on warning buzzer ?????

I left my lights on one time too many so I made one with a relay and connector, a buzzer from Radio Shack and a fuse holder. I wrote a "how to" article and you can find it at the link below. http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/HeadlightChime.htm

    HELP! Circuit board

I had a similar problem on my 1966 Barracuda. The Oil Pressure and Ammeter lights would not work and the Oil Pressure would read intermittently. After cleaning the mounting screws for the board and all the contacts, it turned out that the 3 pins the harness connects to were loose and had a poor...
