Best method for lowering my rear

I have a 72 Dart with an8.75 rear end. I have the super stock Springs that have been moved in board to mini tub the car. The car sits a little higher than I would like so I would like to lower the rear. Only about an inch and a half or two inches. What is the best method of doing this. Please...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

My exhaust ends at the mufflers but I'm sure tailpipe could be fun over the axle.

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

Actually, I was going to use my old ones but Jimmy at "Jimmy's rod and customs" (Daytona) stated that the new springs have no rear eyelet bushings and that he could order and install a new complete set w/ shackles. So I told him to pull the trigger on it. He ordered them off a site but not sure...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

Thanks buddy. Appreciate the comment and advice. Yeah, I have a fresh 0 miles rebuilt 833, new clutch, linkage, hurst shifter, floor hump etc. ready to throw in. Just gotta find the time to do it in the next coming weeks. My father is a Mopar guru and he is going to play a huge part in swapping...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

I had Jimmy's rod and custom in Daytona, FL do the work. Jimmy has tubbed a bazillion vehicles before and narrowed a ton of rear ends so it was work as usual for him to do a great job. He stated that the centering pins on the SS Mopar spings are already a tad bit further to the rear than the...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

The rear end was narrowed 3", I believe, on each side. I can't tell you the flange to flange right now, but if I get the wheels off in the future, I'll try to measure it. I'm putting in a 4 speed in a couple weeks. ;) It is a 15x10 w/ 4.5 backspacing. I wanted to go to 3.5" bs but didn't...

Rougher ride? Caltracs or SS springs

I went with the same springs and they are great. I like the stiff rear. Gas-a-just KYB shocks from summit and I was good to go. I like it!

Rougher ride? Caltracs or SS springs

I have a 72 dart I'm gonna minitub and relocate springs on with 325-50-15 tires and not sure what spring to go with. The springs on it are shot and they are very soft. I'm looking for a lot stiffer ride than what I have. I don't want the ride to be terrible though. It is a street car but will be...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

I'm going to get the kit, definitely. Also I'll get the kit with the different mounting locations for the front spring mount, pre-drilled. I've also seen that there are some kits that have thin sheet metal that is used for the front box. I don't want to skimp on the quality and I don't think...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

Is moving the axle back as easy as moving the point at which the front mount of the leaf spring is mounted. Couldn't I just essentially move the leafs to a more rearward mounting point in the front box, then the rear shackles would just swivel back to compensate? Or am I missing something...

72 Dart, mini tub, narrow rear, spring relocation

Hey guys, looking to mini tub, narrow the rear axle and relocate the springs for max clearance. Also looking to move the axle rearward an inch or so. With the spring relocation kit that allows different mounting points, am I able to move the axle rearward an inch with no issues. Is it as...
