Need advice on brake issue please!

Missed that somehow? What is the Vacuum reading on the Power Booster end of Vacuum Hose? Did you use the Power Booster Rod or the Manual Booster Rod? I remember that causing an issue with my Dual Diaprham but back then you still could pick parts for these cars in a local Parts Yard! Also, I...

Need advice on brake issue please!

You have to switch to the ealier "Hemi" style Power booster (Dual Diaprham they are called I think) and Master Cylinder (Has 30/70 Tanks and Lines exit on Fender Side ). Hope this helped! Later, Bruce B.

    what rotors fit?

Please go to this site/page, http://www.moparaction.com/tech/archive/disc-main.html Go to the section titled "Starting Point", Read the that section; "The factory finally got their act together in 1976 with the introduction of the 11.75" unicast police rotors with cast-in reinforcing ribs...

    what rotors fit?

Ok guys. The reason I said that is I have had 2 1976 Dart Custom Sedans and they both had the 11.75 Rotors and 15 inch rims And BBP 7-1/4 Rear Ends. I bought both cars from the original owners and both cars were as bought new down to the body color rims. I do not post information that I have...

    what rotors fit?

'73-'75 A body Rotors are the same and readily available at any auto parts store. The '76 A body uses the 11.75 rotor set up if you can find one. Also, you can not use 14" wheels on the '76 as they will not clear the Calipers. Later, Bruce B. PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST UNTIL DELETED

    drum to disk kit

I would have to say... It depends on miles/kilometers that are on your front end. It sucks if you have to take it apart twice in my opinion. There has been some issue with the SBP Lower Ball Joint not fittining the Spindle without minor modification? I do not know the specifics on this issue as...

    drum to disc O.E issue

Amen dgc333 to getting ALL the parts in hand 1st! I was lucky in that regard too... Guy had one of the rustiest Dusters I had ever seen and wanted to get it crushed and gone.... Right place at the right time. Then it took me 2 years after that to get together all the new parts needed to...

    drum to disc O.E issue

From a '73 up with any A Body Brakes.... Just measure the Ball Joint "Nut" size to verify it IS a Large Ball Joint Control Arm. Measure the Nut from one side across the Grease Zerk to the other side on the flats. Or the Castle Nut on the Threaded Stud will be larger than the older/small...

    drum to disc O.E issue

You know..... Aren't we all on FABO for kinship? If I had a set of 10' Spindles/Brakes I would send them to 73charger for the cost of shipping! I was lucky, had a guy standing over my shoulder to buy my 10' set up from my '70 GT when I pulled them. How many of us have done the BBP Disc...

    drum to disc O.E issue

I stand corrected; What I have are two 7-1/4 BBP Rear Ends out of a 1974 Duster and a 1976 Dart Disc Brake cars..... NOT 8-1/4 SBP Rear Ends! My bad. Sorry, Bruce B.

Great updates guys! I don't mention BFH Snomopar 'cause that is an advanced experience tool in my opinion - Newbies can REALLY screw stuff up with one! Real good tip 2 Darts! I forget that some people mount the Calipers in reverse. dodge71demon; Seems to be prefered backwards (Caliper...

    front brakes DRAGGING

When you order the MC are you ordering for "Your Car" or for the Disc Brakes that are on your car? I ask this because if your setup is original to your car it would be SBP Kelsy-Hayes 4 Piston Calipers. IF you have Single Piston BBP Rotors it has been upraded. That will make a big difference...

    drum to disc O.E issue

Quick FYI: Not all 8-1/4 Rears have 4.5 Bolt Pattern! So unless you are taking it offa the DISC BRAKE donor car I would check that. Later, Bruce B. Wow! $2K huh? My (used) Magnum 500's with (new) Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's was only $600.00.

    drum to disc O.E issue

OK, All you really need to do is find a '73 up a body with Disc Brakes and get the parts from it. Then you will only be changing Spindles once. This will take you to big bolt patern but new Rims will be cheaper then the alternatives. << My opinion only! Give this thread a read through...

    drum to disk kit

I would have to suggest putting an ad on FABO for a Disc Brake setup from a 73-75 A body. You will need the following used parts: Upper Control Arms, Spindles, Caliper Mounts with Bolts, Calipers, Splash Shields, and Proportioning Valve. I would also buy the following new parts; Upper and...
