Did you run a hose between the bowl vents, to keep it from sloshing over when you launch? I used to have a piece of 3/8 hose, then cut a little vent hole right in the middle, worked great.

Sounds to me like you already have the best one. Those old Carter 2 barrels sucked, bad! They cost Chrysler billions, wow they were awful. I remember them well, always stalling etc.

I assume the question is which one to use? Personally I prefer the Holley, because I have a lot of experience with them. But others feel probably just the opposite, for the same reasons. By your descriptions, you can't hardly go wrong. Both should work well.

I have never had the issue, but know plenty of people that have had the problem. It is my understanding that you usually have a fuel line too close to a heat source, like a heater hose or head etc. Making sure you have enough clearance, air gap for the fuel line would be my first step. Then...
