Use in tank electric fuel pump to empty tank?

I just hooked up a standard automotive electric pump, maybe 6-7 lbs, and hooked it up to the line going to the standard pump location,,I also raised the rear end to be sure all the fuel would come out, or most of it anyway.

Use in tank electric fuel pump to empty tank?

I also do it all the time,, just listen to the pump sound, it will tell you when you are running out. always in a large gas can! and a well ventilated area.

    94 octane stall

I hope it works. I siphoned out the gas and used in my lawn tractor. That was a long mowing. Up and down RPM, stuttering, etc. it wasn't my Imagination. good luck with it.

    94 octane stall

I have trouble with that concept. But Bad gas? It happened to me. Full tank of premium. Apparently the fuel isn't sold often where I stopped, so it was bad in the gas station tank. It stunk, and fouled everything up. I now watch where I buy my premium fuel.

    Aftermarket carb for 273 commando

That car was in Goodyear sitting behind my nephew's house. I heard from a diehard Mopar buddy in phoenix that this car was the car Plymouth with the Commando engine used to make the brochures put out by Plymouth that year..I have a brochure with a red Valiant in it, and I heard it went to...

    Aftermarket carb for 273 commando

The fifth digit E is for the 273 Commando. It is correct. Did that car come from phoenix? There was a red one there a few years ago I knew of that was sold.

    Aftermarket carb for 273 commando

that engine came with the small AFB, narrow bolt pattern.Look for an older AFB from any mopar 361-383-413 and it will fit. I would put in smaller jets if you find a 413 or 440 AFB.(1966) I may have a 383 carb if you can't find one.

    Non Mopar carburetor opinion

Hey rusty, I'm not really up on Fords, but I sold my 69' 390 Torino to a friend of mine, and he has had nothing but problems with the 750Holley on that engine. It is an air vacuum secondary carb. it ran rich, and Indicated overcarburetion. He went to the 650 AVS, and it runs great.

    Thermoquad 400 V8 sucks fuel /runs rich

Thank you itate, Looking around for another carb, I found brand new rebuild kit still in plastic, dated 1993. I am a bit of a hoarder. Are the TQ kits all similar? I will get the box number, as it is a Sorenson kit. My car is the 77' 400 Cordoba.

    Thermoquad 400 V8 sucks fuel /runs rich

I'm going to rebuild my TQ,as it is really puling down the fuel, runs rich, and floods after a few minutes of being shut off. Anything I need to look for? All my experience has been with Carter AFB or AVS. This is the first TQ I've had since 1990, I didn't like them then, so I'm biased. Any...

    Carter BBD tuning issues

all adjusting is done warmed up. the choke is closed upon start-up,and opens about a 1/4 when started, and high idle lever holds the throttle at a slightly higher RPM. The choke has to be wide open to do any adjusting of the fuel/air mixture screw. Remember, the choke has nothing to do with...

    Carter BBD tuning issues

warmed up, choke wide open. you will have to use your best judgement, the engine should be smooth running, without banging into gear. if it does, the idle is too high.If the engine shudders, idle is too low. remember the high idle lever is operated by the choke. none of that is connected to...

    Carter BBD tuning issues

Now that we know it is a 76', then I believe the Instruction sheet suggests 2-3 turns of the air mixture screw counterclock wise as a static setting.(right fully closed, then 2-3 turns left) don't screw the mixture screw too tight, just snug, barely. The vacuum hose to the distributer should be...

    Carter BBD tuning issues

Ignore the fast Idle, with the throttle closed, turn the adjuster out approx. 2 1/2 turns. some need only 1 1/2, depending on the year. Turne the Idle screw until you get a good idle. Make sure the timing is static at the setting the book calls for. vacuum unplugged and tapped off.

    Help identify carb

Just for info, AFB's had a 4 1/4 diameter for the air cleaner. Those carbs aren't AFB's. They look like carbs on a GM I owned years ago. they have the 4 3/4 outlet as well, but not an AVS carb, no Air door, as pishta said. AVS carb's had air screws both at a 90 degree, 1969, and 45 degree, 1968.

    Help identify carb

look at picture one, bottom left near where the nut is. There should be a 4 digit number on the vertical surface. A good parts store might be able to get a kit for you based on those numbers. I have a couple of those, and mine are all 9500 series aftermarket carbs.
