Who here has Dougs headers in a Early A V8

Issue with the using the stock 4speed is that if your car needs headers, you likely need the larger clutch, which is the issue with fit. In terms of Doug vs. TTI, TTI isn't a two-piece; would much rather have the full single-piece tubes of the TTI.

PowerMaster Starter Clock Position for TTIs

yeah, it's the 10.5" and we have one of the Powermasters - says it's discontinued, but you can still get them. thanks for the info on the suggestion for starting the new engine with manifolds - unfortunately that's not really an option for us. Guess will have to take our chance.

PowerMaster Starter Clock Position for TTIs

Does anybody know the desired position/clock angle that the Power Master starter should be put in for usage of the TTIs? This is for the 10.5 clutch. thanks for any input!!

    mopar engine ofset?

Looked into this since I'm going to install my TTI headers and want the engine in perfectly. According to TTI, the early Abody is offset by only 5/8" to the passenger side. Not sure how accurate their info is though.

    early a body radiators

If you aren't going stock, have you thought about an aluminum radiator? This is what I did. Got one from FBO (http://www.4secondsflat.com/). You have to have the brackets welded on, which is the big downside, but the radiator itself is really cheap. Save a bit of weight even. =) As for the...

    Early 273 4bbl cast-iron intake

As I look into it more, the 64/65 heads have a different sized thread as well. As for the angle, the 66 angle is straight on, which is the same for all LA engines moving forward after that - so the 66 manifold and heads will interchange with any 66 and up LA engine. If I remember...

    Early 273 4bbl cast-iron intake

I'm surprised nobody grilled the seller for saying it's for a 64,65,66; when the 65 version would have had different angled holes for the head bolts.

    Unusual Color on 1966 Barracuda

Good point about 500 likely being high. I guess my main point was that from my experience hearing and seeing so many cases of the 999 pink cars, that it's not on the single digits size of rare. Maybe 50? In terms of the fender tag, it's black interior, 2brl V8, Auto. Only other odd thing...

    Doug's Headers Install on 4spd 66 Valiant

WOW Dave. I'm sure you might remember, I was one of those who found out that the standard 10.5" clutch fork didn't work. Props goes out to you for figuring out how to make it work. Of course, I now also have a set of TTI's that we will likely use. In any case, sharing work like this...

    New 65 Conv. Valiant

Well, it is with sad regret that I let people know that I have a new car in the stable. Sadly, my Mom has recently passed away, having cancer win a long battle. With that, I have inherited her 65. I helped her find and purchase this car, so it does mean a lot that I can now keep the car in...

    Unusual Color on 1966 Barracuda

OK - I own one of these Pink cars. I'll try and reply with info and ask a few questions. One - the paint code is 999, not 99. Here is a pic of my vin: I have seen/heard/read about at least 10 different pink cars. ALL of them have had ties to the Bay Area, CA. I have yet to be able...

I'm pretty sure the switch for my convertible top is shot. Is there any repo options or places that might rebuild something like this?

    66 Barracuda Gauge cluster repainting

Can't say I don't respect folks for DIY, but the pics of the results from these guys look so good, using them is my plan. http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/Mopar%201-4.pdf

    Dougs headers blues

First off want to say - been there done that. I just wish you had gotten to read some of my posts that talk about my problems with Doug's not fitting the 10.5" clutch before you found out yourself. I have gone through and am still going through the same issues you are going through. My...

    Lower steering column seal?

Yeah, I ended up paying the $40 at RT Specialties when I got mine. I agree, it seemed way overpriced. I needed one though, so I forked it over. Thanks so much for the info about the other source - that's great info!!!

Can somebody confirm or deny that it's the only the automatics that need the powermaster and that the manual transmission can use the mini-starter.

    64-65 Barracuda rear defrost set-up

I have not heard of very many of these and would love to have one. Considering I would be willing to pay $200 for something like this - I'd have to say it's at least worth $200 ;)

Early A bodies just get no love

I think you have to add to your post that 4 door cars don't get any love either. I do agree though - well worth the price.

What size alum rads fit early a's?

I got the 22" from Ron @ FBO - So if the one you have is 22", I'm sure you can get it to fit. If you get the brackets rewelded, make sure to think about forward and aft location in order to keep room for a fan.

    TTI / 10.5 clutch

Thanks for the pictures!! I think these will really help those using a 4speed and Spitfires. As an update on my issues - we talked with Mr. Richardson at MoparMecca. I'm not sure how many people have heard/talked with this guy, but he was VERY helpful and has gone through a lot of these...

    66 Barracuda front seats

I agree with others - the standard has the hard plastic back. Maybe early models didn't have it - or a PO did some changing to your seats.

    which master cylinder to run?

I used a later aluminum unit. There is lots of info out there on how to use one of these. At quick glance, this one article has some info: http://www.moparaction.com/Tech/archive/disc-main.html Also, Zippy - who I'm not sure is on this board or not, can help you with the adapter and can...

    TTI / 10.5 clutch

This is great news - pics would be FANTASTIC!! Just to confirm - this is the fork you got from Brewers, correct? http://www.brewersperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CF702

    TTI / 10.5 clutch

Doesn't Brewer's also sell kits that will include a modified z-bar and pivot that will fit a 10.5 clutch? I looked on the website and couldn't find it listed, but I swear I remember hearing about it.

    TTI / 10.5 clutch

Yeah, 1.5" might be enough. What I would like to do is mock everything up outside of the car to deal with all this. Might be something work working towards. A call to Brewer's is never a bad idea either. Thanks to everybody about the suggestions so far - hopefully in-time I can give some...

    TTI / 10.5 clutch

in my situation, it's was not the bellhousing itself that is a problem, it's that the clutch fork is longer on the 10.5 inch clutch and hits the tubs.
