    Did it crush the pan much when it happened? Is it possible it pushed the pick-up and cracked the pipe up next to the block causing it to suck air?

    overheating issues

    I had the same problem with mine. I tried removing the thermostat and made it worse. The water was circulaing too fast thru the radiator and not cooling enough. I installed a fan for an HHR. Replaced the thermostat with a 160. Idles all day at 190. Also used wetter water.

    My 09 hemi isn't even that low running 5w-20. It runs about 25-30 at normal operating temp in gear. I'm running 20-50 racing oil in my 440 with the racing filters. Not really worried about splitting a filter.

    I just fired mine (440) about a month ago with a high volume pump and have 75 to 80 at idle. Same as the one right before it. I built mine tight so I expected the pressure to be that high. My sons 360 I built 3 years ago is still running 65-70 at idle with 15,000 miles. I wouldn't worry about...

    Between 225 -245 h.p. and 340-360 ft.lbs. torque @3200 r.p.m. stock. The big killer then was the compression ratio which was only 8.2 to 1.
