Original tires on my '72 Duster were D78-14. I think that converts to a 195/75-14

Had a set of BFG Radial T/A's on a car once. Pinto station wagon, so needless to say, not enough power to break them loose. Dry pavement they were ok, but rain or snow, they were downright dangerous.

That's what I'm running on my Sport, but on 7" rims.

Same here. 275's on 8" rims, and there ain't no more room.

I know it's ancient history, but when I put L60x14's on my '72 Duster, the shop I got my tires from, would not mount them on anything under 7"

Should work on a 5.5" rim, although marginal. If original rallye's, make sure they're not 4.5" width.

To many variables. Do all 4 tires match? Do the letters look good? I've seen some that look really good,and some not so much. I turned mine in,because,#1 fronts and backs are not the same,#2 I don't like the look on one pair. What is important,is what looks good to you.

Guess I did all the no-no's. Back in the early 70's I ran ET uni-lugs,with adapters on my '72 Duster. At least 100,000 miles,and never had a problem. Still have the adapters. Guess I was just lucky.

I turned mine in. Not matching tires on front and back,or I may have done otherwise.

I ran adapters on the back of my Duster back in the 70's. Never had a problem. Tried to use them on tjhe front,but could'nt turn the wheel,without getting into the fenders. I'd suggest a differant route.

My Sport has 255-60X15's on it. Going 100 miles on the interstate,and watching the mile markers,it was short 5 miles. Therefore 5% slow on the speedo. IE 60 mph=63. By the way,that is with the original gear for the speedo.

We're going black on my rallye's for my yellow car. I think it will look good with the other black-out treatment we are doing. Should have pic's next week. Dave

Check around your bushings. My k-frame had a crack around the left lcr bushing,that caused a sound like you're describing. Had a heck of a time figureing it out. Mechanic buddy of mine said that was not uncommon on our cars.

I tried running adapters on the front of my '72 Duster years ago. Try it before you depend on it. They set the wheels out to far,and would hit the wheel wells as soon as I tried to turn. I'd go for the switch.

I'm pretty sure the one in my 72 Duster was peasonably flat. Maybe small hump,but we're talking little tires by todays standard. D78-14's (195) on 5.5" rims.
