Blew 200 bucks, and "yes" it was Horrid Freight

You are about right on the price. Some smaller boxes are less but they have crazy boxes that can run double the that. The SnapOn boxes and other premium boxes are really very nice, extremely solid and hold some retail and trade in value. My coworker's SnapOn box has remote keyless entry, just...

Blew 200 bucks, and "yes" it was Horrid Freight

I use a $400 Craftsman box, professionally. It's great and I saved $8,000 over a similarly sized StrapOn box. Even if I had to replace my Craftsman box every year, I would still be money ahead for the next 20 years.

    Another spot welding ???

Like mentioned, you will need a spot welder for factory looking spot welds. -Or- You can do plug welds and dress them to look like spot welds. This takes some time and I really question the value of going through the effort.

anyone use a Porta spot welder?

We have a ProSpot at work. It does save a bunch of time over conventional plug welding (and the cosmetic finishing of plug welds). It also gives a factory appearance to your welds. It really comes down to how much you want to spend.

    respirator????

In my opinion, your days of spraying without a fresh air system and being fully covered (shoot suit and gloves) are over. If you are now sensitized to Isocyanates you can die from exposure.

fastest way to strip paint off car

If you prime over 60 grit it will look like butt. Primer offers little corrosion protection so even if the car is a beater, this idea won't help it any. Just scuff the entire car with red scotch-brite or DA it with 180, mask and prime.

    3/4 drill or hole saw?

I think I would take it to a machine shop and say..... Put some holes in this. If I didn't have the budget for a machine shop, I would save until I did.

    Eastwood Tig welder

99% of the stuff you get from Eastwood is just someone else's stuff, with the "Eastwood" name stuck on the side. You pay extra for that name and the one stop, catalog shopping experience. If you want a welder, go to a welding supply house. You will get a better machine for the same money...

Welding noob, hows this one or other suggestions

I would take Collision Repair Welding at the local college, this is specifically for automotive, sheet metal, patch panels, frame sectioning. Use their welders and see what you like.

    Harbor Freight Tool

Kid at school has one. Works as well as the more expensive ones we have around the shop. And here is a tip for when you are using one of these..... You only need a very quick zap. This way (if you are cheep like me), you can take some vice-grips, grab the nail at the head, give it an easy...
