    Seat rebuild question

When you get ready to work with the seat covers, place them in your dryer on high heat for about 25-30 minutes. That will make them much more pliable than laying them in the sun when it comes time to stretch them over the seat frame. I put my Legendary covers in the dryer when I was installing...

    Replacement seat covers?

I would second the idea about ordering from Dante's. Dante sells the Legendary covers but they are cheaper than if if you buy them direct from Legendary. Don't try to go the cheap route on your seat covers if you can help it.

HAS ANYONE RECOVERD THERE OWN SEATS ?

I did mine in my basement. The front buckets were tough, but doable. I actually had to get help to have enough "muscles" to stretch the rear cover over the frame. I would also recommend heating the covers in the dryer versus the sun technique. You can get them warmer and more pliable in a much...

    painting seat belts

Thanks for the concern. I originally posted that during my build three years ago. I ended up buying all new seat belts anyway when I finished the car. I wasn't convinced that the boiling method was the best.

Dart Dash Removal pics....and does anyone repro dash knobs?

I didn't have any luck finding most of the dash knobs when I refinished the dash on my 69 Dart. I ended up polishing them the best I could using a small dremel tool.

    best place to purchase carpet

I would call Dante's. My entire interior (seat covers, door panels, carpet, headliner) came from them and I have no complaints. Depending on how fast you need it, he will deliver it to Carlisle in July for free.

Headliner bow length and which one goes where

Since the geometry on the roof of the 70 is basically the same as my 69, I will tell you what order mine went in. First, the longest bows were towards the back of the car, and they get shorter as you come to the front. My car had five bows and they were colored this way from front to back: Green...

    69 Dart repop dash pad

Get you a new dash pad from Dante's Mopar parts. I believe they are from Legendary, but you can actually get them cheaper from Dante than buy them direct from Legendary.

Pictures of Console Carpet for 69 Dart

That is an excellent idea. Did you happen to glue long strips of Velcro around the console or just short sections?

Pictures of Console Carpet for 69 Dart

That's exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.

Pictures of Console Carpet for 69 Dart

Does anyone have pictures of how the one-piece wrap-around console carpet attaches to the center console for a 69 Dart? I am in the process of replacing all the wiring harnesses in the car, so I figured I would also take the console out to replace the top plate and fix the carpet. The guy who...

What color do I paint the dash?

I believe I used Krylon Semi-Flat on my dash.

    Annoyed with Dantes

I have bought plenty of stuff from Dante over the years. In fact, I think every time I have called him, he actually answered the phone. I feel pretty confident you could have a good conversation with him to clear up any confusion.

    seat covers where to buy

Legendary will be your best option. But I would recommend trying to buy them through Dantes (mentioned above). I think he can sell them cheaper than you can actually buy them direct from Legendary.

Installing Seat Belts in my 69 Dart

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Installing Seat Belts in my 69 Dart

I have them installed. I just want to make sure that I have the right belts on the floor on each side of the bucket seats. There are no shoulder belt mounts in my car because of the radical roof swap we did during my resto.

Installing Seat Belts in my 69 Dart

While my car has been done for more than a year, I have wondered if my seat belts in the front are installed correctly. Does anyone have pictures of what inboard and outboard seat belts are mounted for front bucket seats on a 69 Dart? I just want to confirm mainly that my outboard belts are...

    Console Mounting Bracket Template

Unfortunately, I don't have the template anymore. It was pretty much destroyed in the process of doing my conversion. But seeing as you have the dimensions in your second post, I suspect you could replicate the same template relatively easy. Just use something sturdy, like double thick poster board.

You can't go wrong buying Legendary from Dante.

You can get it out, but it is a heck of a lot easier to get it out with the windshield out.

    FLOOR MATS

I ordered a set for my Dart from Dante's Mopar Parts. I am very happy with them.

    Complete interior makeover

Definitely call him. Dante himself usually answers the phone. He can get you everything you need. If you make the trek to Carlisle, PA for the All-Chrysler show, he will even deliver to you there for free in July.

    Complete interior makeover

Order everything through Dante's Mopars. It is all Legendary products but it will actually be cheaper than ordering direct from Legendary. Everything inside my Dart came from Dante.

Speedometer Cable Won't Disconnect From Back of Gauge

This is exactly what happened when I tried to disconnect it. The sheath did pull back but the cable remained stuck in the back of the speedometer.

Speedometer Cable Won't Disconnect From Back of Gauge

I wish that was the case, but I know its not. The reason I need to unplug it is because the speedometer is making a helluva racket. May have to have the speedometer rebuilt, if the cable (which is brand new) is not the issue.

    changing seat belt color?

I think opinions vary on that question on whether it is a good idea or not. Some have expressed concern that the seat belts might be compromised from boiling them to dye them. I dyed my original belts with the Rit dye and they came out fine.

Speedometer Cable Won't Disconnect From Back of Gauge

I didn't think you had to turn it. I thought just pinch the clip and pull. In fact, I think just the cable itself was hanging up inside the back of the gauge.

Speedometer Cable Won't Disconnect From Back of Gauge

I am trying to chase down an ongoing issue with noise in my speedometer. However, when I tried to disconnect the speedometer cable from the back of the gauge, the cable seemed to be hung up on something and would not just pull out. Any idea what the cable could hang up on preventing its removal...

    Console shifter conversion

One last thought, there are two versions of that bracket that mount on the side of the transmission (the one with the little o-ring hole). I discovered this when I was doing my conversion. I am not sure which one is the correct one for your car, but you will know if it is right once you drop...
