    Magnum power steering brackets

Any pics of that set up? I used a bracket from a van. It sits the pump down low out of the way and clears the a body battery tray.

    Intake manifold torque

I have probaly pulled the intake on my Magnum about a dozen times for head, cam, and intake swaps. Ive used the same original OEM bolts everytime and I have never torqued them. I snug all of them up in a criss cross pattern, and hand tighten them in the same pattern. It is marked on the stock...

Indy LAX Cyl Head on a Magnum

Magnums up to 1995 had the LA oiling holes. They weren't used on the magnum heads. But the block was drilled for it. I have a 1994 5.9 in the garage and a 1995 5.9 we built for my dads truck. Both of them have oil holes. The 1996 5.9 in my dart doesn't have the holes. There were quite a few...

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

The magnum bracket bolts to the head and water pump. I doubt the water pump alone is enough. But that will help locate and hold it while you modify the bracket to bolt to LA heads. The bracket is aluminum, it shouldn't be too hard to move a few bolt holes. The power steering will be a little...

    Edelbrock 7577 question

I drilled one of the holes out to fit an NPT to AN fitting in it. I did this on my edelbrock and on my current M1 intake.

    Ignition for 360 magnum

I'm using a factory Mopar distributor on my Magnum. I ran it on the 360 and now on my 408. Also using an Accel brand 4 pin HEI module. Its mounted to the bottom of my distributor with a really nice heat sink/bracket I bought from designed2drive. I also have a drop in limiter plate to set the...

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

The picture that @myduster360 posted is my car. The van bracket fits perfectly. I have an extra van bracket and pump if your interested. I think I also have a magnum alternator bracket if you want an uncut unit. The salvage yards have PLENTY of magnum powered trucks to rob parts from. The vans...

    Magnum Swap with Carb

Just know that the magnum uses a different intake than an LA engine.

What are the best roller rockers for Magnum heads ?

The stock factory rockers are fine with the 1110 springs. I have used a stud/guide kit that allows you to use (cheap) chevy rockers on a magnum head. I have edelbrock heads now that require the same chevy rockers.

    Sensor locations on 360 magnum

I dont know how to attach a knock sensor and make it work correctly. The magnum has a lifter retainer that is held down with 3 bolts in the lifter valley. That would probably be a great place to try and attach the sensors... I would put some studs in those and place the sensors on top of the...

    Sensor locations on 360 magnum

Holley Sniper is what I'm running. I would have spent a bunch more $$ for a Holley EFI with spark/knock control.

    Sensor locations on 360 magnum

I have never heard of or read about a knock sensor on a magnum. I'm currently running a Holley EFI on my 5.9 magnum. Knock detection would be a GREAT thing to have.

    Sensor locations on 360 magnum

What year/model? I've worked on and swapped a bunch of 5.2 and 5.9 magnums. I've never ran across a sensor like you've mentioned. But mopar has done some very odd stuff!

    Sensor locations on 360 magnum

What are you trying to do? The magnum has a crank sensor on the back of the block that doesn't require being "blocked". The cam sensor is in the distributor. The throttle body has the TPS, IAC, and MAP sensors. The IAT is in the intake manifold. Coolant temp is in the intake manifold. That's...

    Magnum Alternator Wiring

Check and make sure ALL of your connections are good, tight, and CLEAN. No rust, corrosion, paint, etc. The ground is usually the problem but any of the connections can cause issues. The regulator could very well be bad even though it's new. That is becoming so common its ridiculous.

    Magnum reseal questions?..

The "single roller" kit you listed has the correct style chain for the tensioner. I think those are typically called "silent type" chains. The "double roller" kit is like what I used. The chain ate into the guides pretty quickly. I had something like 10k miles on it when I tore it down for a cam...

    Magnum reseal questions?..

Make damn sure you get the correct chain style if your going to use a tensioner. I used a double roller chain with the OE tensioner. It ended up putting plastic pieces through my motor. I have pics at home.

    Magnum reseal questions?..

The magnum oil pumps are perfectly fine. Your rear seal oil leak might actually just be the oil sending unit leaking. I've replaced a couple of those on my truck, my dads '94, my grandpa's '96, and my sister's V6 dakota.

    Magnum reseal questions?..

It's basically all the same as an LA. DON'T pull the cam or distributor. That will mess up the sync with the PCM and it will need a special scanner to sync it. Side note, my grandpa has a '96 1500 with a 5.9. It has 473k miles on it. The engine has had valve seals replaced while in the truck...

    360 magnum flexplate?

Just remember, not all 5.9's have a balanced flexplate. I don't know what year the change was made, but my 1994 5.9 had a balanced converter. The flexplate was neutral! My dad's 1995 Ram 1500 also had the weight on the converter when we pulled his trans. Just gotta look for the weights to be...

    360 magnum flexplate?

You need to use the stock 5.9 magnum balancer. You will also need a stock 5.9 magnum flexplate. Not all 5.9 magnums have weighted flexplates! The early years put the balance weight on the torque converter and used a 5.2 style flexplate. So make sure you have a later 5.9 flexplate with the...

    Magnum oil pan

Use the magnum gasket. I've done it several times! You will need to use a good amount of RTV in the front corners, but it will seal so much better than the 4 piece LA gasket which I have also used. Bottom line is the LA gasket is a direct fit but has more leak prone places, the magnum seals...

    Spark plug tubes.

Just squeeze them by hand and wiggle and pull! Pliers make it super easy, but can bend them some.

    Spark plug tubes.

I had manifolds and headers on my truck. Never had an issue. My dart has Doug's headers and a 5.9, also no issues. I recently bought a '98 viper GTS. It has the same spark plug tubes that magnums had. It shares quite a few parts from the magnum engines ive learned! I removed the tubes when I...

    Magnum Alternator Wiring

Just reuse your two existing factory wires. It’s that easy. Doesn’t seem to matter which wires get hooked up on which stud.

    Spark plug tubes.

Nope. I removed them from my magnum powered truck many years ago. Never had an issue. I removed them from the 5.9 in my dart also.

    Kevco / Dipstick Issue

You just need a car dipstick. You should be able to get a chrome one from the local auto parts store. I think oreillys had mine in stock, probably a Mr gasket brand or similar.

Crosswind air gap clone and ram truck serpentine setup

I had a set of underdrive pullies on my magnum several years ago. I couldn't find a 7 rib belt in the size I needed. I ended up with a 6 rib that fit great. Never had a single problem with it.
