Heres what I did. Kinda hokey but I didn't have a tire and needed something quick. I put one screw through the 2x4s then pulled the side boards to the pan with the strap. Then put a second screw on each end to lock the side boards under the pan rail.
I had thought about dressing it to see what I get. Probably just needs a light skim cut. I'll lay the gasket on it tonight and see exactly where we are at. I held it up to the head last night but was irritated so I didn't examine well.
I don't know what happened. I just know it didn't happen sitting in its box on my bench at home. I'll try and stop in this week and talk with the owner. It's been so long that I really have no recourse. There's a good chance the only time he touched them was when I brought them in and picked...
He won't remember lol but that is fully expected. The one arrow shaped scratch is deep enough to catch a nail on. I'll be using an MLS gasket. Part of it extends into the fire ring area of the gasket so it will need addressed. Just a bummer. I thought I had all my bases covered and was ready to...
Always check your parts when picking up from the machine shop. I knew better but got comfortable and didn't. Close to a year later as I'm getting ready to assemble I find a scratched up head... I suppose I'll go talk to the shop owner and see if it's been an issue and see what he can do.
Depends on what I'm doin. I tend to push wire and drag stick most of the time. Depends on position, weld prep, material thickness and sometimes just how I feel at the moment.. TIG is always push. Think about running it the other way. That would be a PITA. All processes wind up being pushed at...
Nope. I liked it a lot. Of course it was my first experience with a tuner. Being able to plug something in and push a few buttons and gain that kinda power was a mind blowing experience.
Was reading through the thread and realized I didn't actually answer the question...I never got to wild with mine but did run a borrowed Superchips (just a fuel box I believe) for awhile. Had to be careful when it was wet. Sideways at 60 in a 2500 4x4 wasn't exactly fun lol. I liked the tuner...
Order of ops for a 24v imho:
Lift pump
Gauges
Exhaust
Intake
Fuel filtration
After those add ons a small fuel box should make ya pretty dang happy. Pretty crazy the power you can make with these things. I have a 98.5’ 5 spd and an 09’ 6.7 love them both.
I have had to plunge mill (possibly incorrect wording as I am not a machinist) bolts out then pull their threads out with a pick and needle nose pliers. Not the funnest but ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes.
My grandad was the mopar man in our little town. I idolized that man. I always wanted a muscle car era mopar. Didn't care which one. He had lots of B bodies. I bought my first A body bout a month after he passed. Its a shame hes not around to see it. Anyways he started it all for me...
I have a bigger cam if you are interested. Probably not enough to make a big difference though. It's a Howards .563/563 260/[email protected] 106. I also have the howards direct lube lifters to go with it. Pm if interested.
